Accident in shop

I'll keep it going!
whenever I'm in a supermarket with a hand basket I feel that I constantly have to be on the look out for uncontrolled kids running around the aisles (especially around the corners of aisles!) I'm just waiting for some kid to run into the corner of my basket and put the proverbial eye out!
Why can't parents control their offspring? I actually think supermarkets (and some other public environments) are potentially dangerous for kids. It's not like home where parents can let them run riot if they want to.
(Sorry - slightly off topic!)0 -
This is an example of a bona fide issue. :eek:0

Is it normal for a solicitor to get in touch after an accident has been reported ?
But it's surely more likely that this is really some Ambulance Chasing, especially as the "solicitor" seems to be asking for permission to investigate?
I doubt the OP will ever provide the answer..0 -
The "Stella Awards" are named after the lady who spilled coffee on herself and successfully sued McDonalds. They are awarded for the most frivolous successful claims in the US.
One such was that of Kathleen Robertson. She was awarded $780,000 by a (sym)pathetic jury after breaking her ankle tripping over a child who was running around in a furniture store. The store owners were, unsurprisingly, less pleased especially as the misbehaving youngster was Ms Robertson's son:beer:0 -

The Stella Awards, which are supposedly six “crazy” lawsuits, have been circulating around the Internet since May 2001. They are all entirely made up. According to Snopes.com, a website that debunks urban legends, “All of the entries in the list are fabrications – a search for news stories about each of these cases failed to turn up anything, as did a search for each law case.” http://www.snopes.com/legal/lawsuits.asp
