They have trollies for toddlers and babies you chose not to use either one one, if you had your daughter wouldn't have been in a position to fall over in the first place. You really need to take responsibility for the effect your own (in)action had on your daughter.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
. . . and landed on a metal trolley type thing used for moving large items, which had been left in an aisle <snip>
we were just really angry at their negligence!
If it was hidden or camouflaged like some kind of bear trap I might understand your anger, but a large trolley in plain view, doesn't sound negligent.0 -
Children fall over. It's what we all did If it had happened at home and she banged herself on the coffee table would you issue an official apology and have dialogue with a lawyer and give them compensation?0
-
OP - you need to take more responsibility.
Is your child blind?
Stock trolleys are not invisible are they?
It would be very impractical not to leave them unattended at times.
Imagine if you asked where a product was in the store and they said.... no problem I’ll take you to the product like I’m supposed to do, but just give me a few minutes and I’ll stick this stock trolley back in the warehouse as someone that isn’t watching where they are going might trip over it.
Thought not.0 -
my child fell over in a well known supermarket and landed on a metal trolley
So are you saying she was not watching where she was going?
Are you saying she has a condition and falls over randomly?
Are you saying she just fell like a sack of ****?
Are you saying she was messing round not paying a blind bit of notice and stumbled? She bruised her cheek and was very upset
She would be. but a bag of sweets would of soon cured thatI have no idea what to do
Yes you have your looking for compensation or you'd not be on here posting about itIf it had been an inch higher my daughter could have lost an eye.
but it was not an inch higher and she did not loose an eye she by your own admission has a bruise, should of asked for free bag of frozen peas to reduce the swelling.
Move on and claim for nothing.0 -
So another generation of the compensation culture is born.
If a toddler is not under your control in a supermarket and another person trips over them, you'd be blaming that shopper would you?0 -
Stop, stop. This thread is already dead.0

Didn't know you could claim compo for having clumsy kids. I must be owed a fortune by now!0
