Try your local garden centre for boxes. Most of the china they stock comes in boxes and they just unpack, put the items on the shelves then throw the boxes into a heap at the front of the store. They often have bubble wrap too and once again are very pleased that you take it away.
Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!
  • A lot of shops use the paper bags, especially shoes and clothing. So my tip is never throw them away. You can split the seam unfold the bottom and remove the string handles. Then you are left with very heavy duty wrapping. A bit of tape and hey presto a neat little sturdy package. I always try to find something inside the house which i can recycle, failing that i just pinch some security bubble bags from work!!:)

About those special delivery envelopes you could (esp if a sub post office) and you are friendly with the postmaster/mistress ask them for 100/200 of those grey envelopes. Since in my office got stacks of them. But as the person said earlier one thing you have to do is turn it inside out. Otherwise a post office if not sending it by special delivery will have to refuse it otherwise Royal Mail will come back to them 3 months later asking for say 100 items sent at £.94 each, £2.89 difference between first and special delivery which becomes £289. I myself do not have that amount of money to withstand that loss :-(.

I think what iceburn means mrpete.(and pls correct me if I'm wrong iceburn) That if you don't turn them inside out RM will want to send them by Special delivery...which you have to pay extra for,but by turning them inside out they don't say Special Delivery on them so you can send them by normal mail.
