And while we're being brazen and talking about going to the loo........
A German friend of mine used this rhyme to train her children to save water on flushing:
If it's brown, flush it down.
If it's yellow, let it mellow

Doesn't save money but helps save the environment - if you can bear to follow her advice!

I hate this whole "not fulshing after a wee" thing, what if the person after you has to poop and gets splashback?

As someone has said, put all soap in pump dispensers.

Then put an elastic band around the neck of the bottle, so it will only dispense half as much :rotfl:

    Brilliant !!!
  • Extend the life of your electric razor. More than 50 years of using them has taught me that the component most likely to fail is the switch on the razor itself, so leave it ON permanently and use the switch on the razor point or wall socket instead.

The wife and I have mobile phones from Dialaphone that cost us £10 a month after cashback with 600 anytime minutes. These are essential for us.

So, we use these in preference to our landline as much as possible. I know you can get free weekend call deals but once we started using contract mobiles our home phone bill plummeted.

I like to keep the return envelopes that we get out of junk mail and CC statements (we pay them via phone). These get used for ordinary mail when we don't need to create an impression. My wife however recycles them when I'm not looking.

Our childrens' old soft toys got put away and now they are given to the dog when he needs them. It saves us spending £3 at a time for a new toy for him. Some last longer than others but he seems to enjoy the variety.

In my business I use a lot of power tools. However I do find that the old orange Black and Decker two speed drills with a mixer attached make brilliant mini paddle mixers. This is a great way to use a drill that may otherwise be seen as redundant. I've even got another one via freecycle.org

    £2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:
  • PERFUME - you do not need to practically bathe in the stuff, for an elegant touch only spray behind your ears and on your breast for a longer lasting smell (these are the most effective places on your body to spray perfume as they are warm and this is where your man snuggles into)

  • I strongly recommend E-cloths, they are fantastic for cleaning windows, stainless steel hobs, sinks, cookers, taps, mirrors, worktop, cupboards basically anything shiny which easily smears.

You can clean in half the time, you do not need any cleaning products whatsoever. All you use is a splash of water on 1 cloth so it is damp and then buff with the dry shining cloth that you also get in the pack. No more having to wash dusters, window cleaning cloths etc or having to store the products to clean with. It is also environmentally friendly as you are not using chemicals. The cloths are not cheap but they are unbelievably cost and time effective and clean amazingly. All posh showrooms use them for their displays. They are brilliant

    What is an E-cloth?
    Can you post a link.

I googled e-cloth and this was the first one that came up there was alot of other companies listed as selling this so you may find it cheaper somewhere else. I know that B&Q sell them too.

I only bought the twin glass and polishing cloths, I got them for £7. I use them for everything and do not see the point in the large multipacks which cost £16.99
