I have never used anything like this. I keep the data switched off as I am at home so use wi-fi
Have spoken to O2 and the best they can offer is 500mg 500 mins unlimited texts for £7
Was paying £7.50 for unlimited mins
Currently Plus Net are offering 1.5.gb unlimited mins and texts £6.50
TalkTalk who is my phone and Broadband
Have got with 02 1G GB 1000 mins and unlimited texts
I have always been with 02
And Talk Talk as my internet provider

Would appreciate advice and views
Sue

  • I am with plusnet mobile. Just negotiated my £5 a month package to 1.5gb data and unlimited text and calls. A great increase and great customer service.

    Smarty.

The small plan at £7.50p per month gives you unlimited calls and texts and 2GB data and you get a refund for unused data at £1.25 per GB. In the OPs case that £5.00p per month if as the OP says data is unused. 1 month rolling.

A subsidiary of Three and uses the Three network. You might need to get a free PAYG sim from Three to test the network in your area.

I have just read the reviews mind you it might be for Broadband but there are many many reviews with just 1 * and a lot of problems with connection bills etc It is making me wary of changing to them now They are staying that there are long waits on telephone of half an hour and told they would have call backs that didn't happen

If that's plusnet, I signed up last week with their mobile - number transferred fine, all done by text. Called them once - got straight through!

Just wondered how did you manage that? I can't see a £5/month option on their website.
    TIA

ETA found it at £6.50 on their website, but £5 back through TCB.

I was with Plusnet for awhile until I moved and the EE signal degraded bad enough that I moved to Sky Mobile (on O2 as it happens). If it wasn't for the signal I'd still happily be with them and when I've had to contact them (always through the forums I think) it's been quick and very efficient. I'd have no hesitation in recommending them.

Thank you both for your recommendation. I will go ahead and make the transfer. When I checked the signal it says excellent for my area so should be ok Thanks again Sue

I have just signed up to a deal Plus Net They have given me a plan not on their web site. 3 GB data Unlimited minutes and text for £6
I am very happy with that. I won't use anything like that but it means that I won't have to keep turning off my data and using wifi etc I have never gone anywhere the 500mg except once where I bought extra data for that month. I do text a good deal and often I may only use 50-100 mins a month if that.
Thank you all for all the excellent advice you have given me. Like you said I got through first time on the telephone. I had a blip as I was on my mobile and the PAC code was on that phone so they rang me back to complete the transaction Sue
