My starting CL with Amex platinum cashback was £15000 then i asked after 60 days for £25000 they gave £22500 instead

  • I'm not sure it is improbable. My experience with Amex is that after getting a card they will increase the limit if I ask them to within a week or so. There was no waiting 3 months or 6 months as some other people have indicated. Amex seem a lot more flexible with their limit setting in my personal experience.

They also offer limit increases after carrying out financial reviews. An almost doubling of the credit limits promptly follows whenever Amex have carried out these reviews in my experience.

AMEX gave me a £5000 limit and then offered £12700 after three months. I think you're wrong in this instance.

    They're picky, but generous.

15K to 22.5K on a credit card after 2 months? Still don't buy it.

I wouldn't have bought an increase from £5k to £12700 was likely either. You might be right but it's not improbable...

(Please ignore. I wrote a post in error, but can't seem to simply delete it. Apologies.)
  • It’s certainly not impossible (speaking from experience)

I got my Amex in Jan 2014, and the limit was reasonable. I used it a lot initially for the cashback and I still use it to this day. 6 years on and my limit is extremely high now. I guess you'll have to wait a few months and apply for a limit increase.
