I assumed Platinum meant the charge card.
Were you referring to the Platinum CashBack card then?

Is this for real
How can a card company give such outragous limits.
Is this not how the credit crunch saga began through irresponsible lenders.0 -

Irresponsible lending is individual specific, not based on an absolute number.
A high credit limit can be very responsible if the individual's circumstances allow it.0 -
Aside from the fact that that's South African, the equivalent to that in the UK would be the Platinum Cashback/Everyday Cashback cards:

Since i started the thread over 6 months ago incase somebody else comes along searching with a similar question to what i had, i got the limit increased from £1500 to £4500 after 3 months, then from £4500 to £5500 after 6 months.0

Amex increased my limit last year after sending me an email & letter 6-7 weeks in advance of the increase. There was an option to say No, else it kicked in on the designated date. For the curious, the limit went up from 11k to 14k whereas I have rarely hit even 2k in any billing cycle.0

I can't remember the exact dates but think I got the first increase in 3 months and the second one in between 6-9 months later.0

I can confirm I increased from 10k to 15k today, no hard pull. I asked for 20k.
Had the UK SPG card since December, put a lot of spending on it first 2 months due to moving to the UK from USA, but not done any for last couple months as got Amex Plat charge for daily.
thanks for this info all.0 -
My starting CL with Amex platinum cashback was £15000 then i asked after 60 days for £25000 they gave £22500 instead0
