Well my welcome letter states.......
Tariff ends on 21st August 2019
Price guaranteed until 21st August 2019
If they've sent wrong letter as somebody suggested they are are in for an awful lot of grief......but i will wait and see0 -
I too will wait and see. I cannot see the point of getting het up about a problem that may not occur.
As I said earlier, save all your documentation in a very safe place. Scrutinise your monthly stsements and bills to check that there's not a crafty increase or change to the T&C's and make sure you download a copy, every month if neccessary and save them.
It makes it so much easier if something does go awry if you've got copies of it all rather than hoping that the suppliers website is up to date and hasn't been tweaked.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
When I was comparing on Uswitch Eversmart came up cheapest - but was shown as a variable tariff.
I applied via the Eversmart website, where it stated that it was a fixed rate.
So some conflict of information - but if the company's website says it's fixed, and the paperwork says the tariff is guaranteed, that I'm hoping that's good enough.0 -
OK folks.
I understand most of you want to wait and see if this becomes a problem before taking action. nxdmsandkaskdjaqd - please let us know when you get a reply from them.
The thing is, I am in a slightly different position.
Having raised this with Eversmart and them having told me my tariff is not fixed, I can't simply let it rest as this would suggest that I have accepted their position. So I'm bound to continue pressing for a resolution.
That's OK with me. I still have gas and electricity and I'm not worried at all. I'll just plod on and refer it to the Ombudsman if Eversmart won't budge.0 -
I spoke to Eversmart this morning and explained that I have a “Price guaranteed until 5th August 2019” as stated in the provided Welcome Pack from the company. The representative was insistent that this was a Variable tariff, but was unable to state where in the contract the term variable was quoted. A complaint is being raised and a Resolutions Manager will be in contact within the next 24 to 48 hrs. (I won't hold my breath).
I confirmed that we have a contract with a “Price guaranteed until 5th August 2019”, any deviation from this would result in a Breach of Contract.
We await further contact!0 -

Thanks for this. My response, by email, came from someone called Owen Boland of the 'Complaints Team'. I think everyone at Eversmart has now been briefed with the same message.
I saw a recent post about an upgrade to Eversmarts website so I went on yesterday and discovered a 'chat' facility. I decided to ask about their complaints procedure. I want to follow the correct process if I decide to contact the Ombudsman. The chat was very slow - I would pose a question and a reply would come back (via the chat window and an email) a long while later. The agent asked what the complaint was so I gave a summary. The agent said that what I was told was correct (variable not fixed) and she would get someone to email me today with details of the complaint procedure (I couldn't find any mention of it on their website, which actually seems a bit broken. Clicking on 'About' or 'Help' does nothing).
No email received yet. Oh and the agent told me that my electricity account was now registered with them and would I give them a meter reading. I did so and asked why I could see only a Gas account when I log in. The chat ended unexpectedly at that point - late on Sunday so they probably just closed. Would have been good to say that as part of the chat ending though. Anyway, still no sign of electricity on my account.

I'm keeping a close eye on this thread.
I had two emails from Eversmart telling me that my "subscription" had been cancelled and also my direct debit.
I emailed them and they said it was a mistake but couldn't tell me why it had happened. They said they would restart the DD.
Today I get an email saying the DD failed to go through. I checked my current account. There was no DD active. I phoned Eversmart and made a manual payment. They promised (again) to restart the DD.
Being cynical I now wonder whether they are trying to find a way to get out of my fixed ("Welcome Home") agreement. I signed up on September 2nd, dual fuel. I moved from Iresa via Octopus.0 -

All very odd.0 -
Let us hope that you haven't stirred up a hornets nest and the rest of us start getting mucked about by EversmartNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

The comparison sites aren't certain either.
The Eversmart Welcome Home tariff is listed as variable on the Energyhelpline site and fixed on the Citizen's Advice Energycompare site.
I get the feeling this is not going to end well.0
