End Inheritance Tax (controversial, I know!)

Completely agree. Abolishing it is unlikely, but reduction would be helpful. It's a disgusting tax. Pay tax all of your life in many different forms and still get taxed when you're gone.

Whilst you're at it abandon hs2.

Quite so. If you want to arrive in Birmingham 20 mins earlier, get an earlier train.

  • Stop overseas aid whilst people here are in poverty

Support the NHS once wastage is reduced

    Better taxation for single people

Council tax should be 50% for singles not 75%

    STOP HS2

Stop ' Benefits for life ' for healthy work age adults. No adult should expect tax payers to fund them for life.

Stop squeezing and squeezing those at work doing the right thing to pay for the !!!!less.

Do not raid pensions for those who have worked hard and made sacrifices to have an income in retirement.

Probably loads of others but the bottom line is there isn't enough money in the pot to do anything of value.

Yes and save lots of money in the process by not buying HS2 tickets at £300 per person .

Thanks so much for all your comments so far.

Phillip Hammond will begin his speech today at 3.30pm, and you can watch live on Parliament TV:

You can read the House of Commons Library Pre-Budget analysis here: https://researchbriefings.parliament.uk/ResearchBriefing/Summary/CBP-8422

And we’ll be posting a Budget round-up and replying to comments where possible after the speech has been given.

I bet you haven't even read any of them!

The government doesn't care about us. They care about keeping the "Money" happy. If they actually cared about this country, then they would sort the easiest things out. But no, the big money wants more money so why would they try to save millions in the NHS by buying cheaper products. I would love to be able to read the minds of the politicians.

More investment money for children and young adult mental health services. Currently, they are severely underfunded and oversubscribed. Too many young people are left without proper support and treatment for serious MH issues

    Hi Rubik,

Thank you for sharing your personal experience of this issue. I really appreciate it. This afternoon the Chancellor has announced increased funding for the NHS, and specifically mental health services. As more detail is made available, we will hopefully be able to update you further on how the specifics of this funding may affect policy.

I'll keep an eye out for any pertinent, impartial analysis coming from experts in the House of Commons library and share anything relevant. In the mean time, you may find their research briefing on the current situation a useful resource for background information, should you wish to contact your local MP or a government minister to share your experience.

Double spending on mental health and help people who need it.

    Hi xXMessedUpXx

The Chancellor has indicated an increase in funding to Mental Health, and I'll try an update you as to what exactly that means as soon as we have more details.

    Thanks for getting in touch
