    What about a Suzuki Swift.
Very reliable, well equipped, servicing not cheap though.
    0% finance too.
  • When I was looking to change cars earlier this year. I narrowed down my choice between the Toyota Yaris and the Honda Jazz. For the last 12 years I’ve only bought cars from Japanese manufacturers after a series of problems with the last two Volkswagens I had.

In the end I bought the Honda, so far I’ve been really pleased with it. Well made, economical, 5 star EuroNCAP and amazingly roomy for the size of car. Not the most involving car to drive but certainly one of the most reliable.

    Perhaps worth a look?

I have a Rio 3 (2017) which is very well equipped indeed, including reversing camera, sat nav, lane departure warning and automatic emergency braking amongst many other items. It comes with a seven year warranty and brand new was well under £20K.

If I remember correctly, when i20 clutches failed after a few thousand miles Hyundai rejected warranty claims as "wear and tear". One to avoid as far as I am concerned.

I think you will find that warranties generally exclude clutches. They are a wear and tear item. My mother could get through two clutches a year easily by driving with her foot resting on the pedal!

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and suggestions. In the end I decided to go for a Hyundai i20 Premium Nav, which I should have in mid December. I went for the turbo (I know I was trying to avoid that!) as the 1.2 felt so sluggish. In the end the several things swung it - Hyundai gave me a good deal, the 5 year warranty and the fact that Hyundai do finance over 4 years rather than 3.

Excellent choice. I've had an i30 and my wife an i10 with no problems. They are very reliable, you are unlikely to need the warranty.
