OMG!
I'd read the ingredients on the tin and be running out of the store in horror.
Imagine a pal of mine, once having to explain to a far-flung foreign customs man and several extremely nervous and armed to the teeth soldiers/police, the difference between his case with umpteen Fray Bentos pies in the bottom and what they thought were the landmines he was smuggling...!
Bloody students..! :eek:0 -

I remember bacon with bone/cartilage in with a fatty rind. The snowflakes would want compensation for the rubbish we had to eat, but they were happy days.
And dont get me started on allergies. In the 70's no one ever, and I mean ever had a peanut allergy. Whats that all about? Nutty bars, umm lovely, playing football in the park, jumpers for goal posts. Home before the street lights came on. The 'strange' man down the road, lived with his mum, gave you a caramac bar if you had a chat with him in his shed, dont tell your mum. Innocent days, fantastic.........
I am convinced the allergies are down to all the excess anti-biotic usage and all the antibacterial cleaners. Kids are no longer meeting enough germs when they are little, when they go out into the big wide world they get dirty and their immune system does not know how to react because it hasn't had to deal with any germs, and the antibacterial cleaners do not discriminate between good and bad germs. We talk about dangers from environmental problems, but I am concerned we are missing the biggest danger to human life there is, if we meet no germs our immune system is not ready and we will become weaker and weaker.
Maybe they will start putting germs in the Fray Bentos pies :rotfl::rotfl:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Lets hope it comes up in a pub quiz

Spotted one of those tins in B&M recently £1. Though have they been £1 forever?
Not had one for at least 20 years, lack of meat is probably why. But it seems to be the way with a lot of food these days.
Open a pie and a small mound of grey mush in the base, no matter what the label says they have the knack of making kidney, steak, lamb or chicken all appear to be the same grey mush.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
