Charged £10 for data I have not ordered!!!
Today I got an email from sky to say that I had ordered a1 gb data mix upgrade and that the £10 charge would be collected via my direct debit
I chatted with then and they said that it was ordered at 8.16 online. I am the only one with access and anyway no one else was about so we could not have ordered it Sky's response was that it was ordered so I had to pay for it. I then asked for a call.
On the call their stance remained the same. I asked if they could find out where the order was placed, they said no unless I got a crime number from the police.
So they are refusing to believe me even though I have 14gb in my piggyback and refuse to check who placed the order. I am forced to pay even though I am the innocent victim of either crime or incompetence
It leaves me wondering if skys systems are in fact fit for purpose or if it does suit their aims

Would the cooling off period in the Distance Selling Regs (or whatever they are called nowadays) cover this?
If so, then you could just cancel the extra data and get a refund.0 -
I did ask them if I could cancel the order and they said no, more worried about their lack of interest in their broken systems0

So someone used your debit card to order this data increase? Have you informed the police?
If it was your debit card that was used to order this data increase ring your bank and ask was such a purchase made, they will be able to tell you who/what/where/when made this purchase.0 -
No it was ordered online and they have added the money to my monthly DD bill.0

If it was ordered online, how has the person managed to access your security details to make this purchase? You need to contact your bank and found out who made the purchase. If someone is impersonating you report the issue to the police.0 -

Either used my login details or the sky system has confused me with someone else.0

Are you on a 30 day rolling contract, or beyond a year on a 12 month min term contract? If so, ask for your PAC and move to a network that cares about it's customers, which Sky appear to not care a hoot about.
Also, email a complain to their CEO0 -
