To state the blindingly obvious - check the length of your contract!

I signed up for an 18 month contract last September, and kinda slightly forgot that I'd be having my year abroad the next year...

...so I have an attractive paperweight here with me in France that gets 200 free texts a month and 150 minutes of calls, but can't be used!
  • Hi,
Have you tried BLYK? it free calls and free texts, in exchange of you receiving text advert. sounds good. has anybody tried it?
  • yes use blyk. What do you want to know?

  • hi,

Im interested in the BLYK. Can I have the info on it and how would I go about signing up?

    Thanks

    Jen
  • I'm on Orange at the moment, I mainly went with them for Orange Wednesday cinema tickets, but I find the signal coverage is pretty poor.

I get 1000 texts and 200 minutes for £30 a month, which I never go over although when I come to upgrade I'm not going to be spending £30 anymore!

Ring them up, tell them you want to disconnect, they'll put you through to a "customer retentions" department and you can barter a new deal.

My new contract this year is

    200 texts
200 minutes (any time, any network)

    per month

Free for the first 10 months, pay £30 in month 11. So that works out at about £3 a month if you don't go over your limits.

The only drawback is I didn't get a new phone, but I like the one I have so it's okay.

I was on orange student deal last year and paid £25 for 120 minutes and 1000 texts. I rang them to tell them I was leaving and they offered me 600 minutes and 3000 txts for £25 a month, plus a free phone of my choice.

    I stayed :D

  • Thanks!!

I cant do it as Im 25 though ;((
  • There is no such separate deals for students or general when you talk about contract mobile phone deals. general deals are good and you have taken a good deal. so just renew it or check out some of the recent deals for your mobile and related service provider.
