Wishing atb good news too. Horrible week at work, lots that has not gone to plan but never mind, its weekend.
And the house is fairly clean and tidy which is great!0 -
Hope news good atb.
Busy week, now got my mum staying so busy weekend.
Wallpaper stripped and walls washed.
Still harvesting tomatoes and apples.

Is Jojo TT alright?Morning all
Thinking of you especially today, atb.
Jojo, it's very quiet without you
Wot everybody else has said, ATB.
Been handling Himself having a three day meltdown [sigh], so no flying, just a bit of grumbling on DT to keep me distracted at times.
Not entirely certain where this one came from, and it was very trying when he finally agreed to come and get some food shopping, only for him to completely clam up and not say anything other than 'No' to anything I asked him - but then manage without a single issue to greet someone we know when we passed them on the way back.
Anyhow, he's started to resemble himself again now and, as we're doing a gig in the Midlands tomorrow, I CBA to try and persuade him to do anything, so just got on with finding the kitchen under all the crud he'd left over it since it was cleaned on Saturday. Made dinner, too - he sort of picked at it (first thing I've seen him eat) and then he finally came along to 'clear up after cooking' (yeah, like I don't clean as I go along ) about half an hour ago, ate some leftovers I had threatened to put into the freezer rather than waste them like everything else that went in the bin  and he now seems sorted.
I think it's possibly something about food - he gets upset about something and instantly stops eating/will only have sugary drinks/sweets, then his energy drops and he gets more upset, etc, etc. Even now, when getting food to keep going all tomorrow, whilst I've got sandwiches, fruit and cereal/nut bars and am soaking oats for breakfast, he's bought a packet of crisps, a fizzy drink and a massive bag of M&Ms. That's a recipe for me having to practically carry him home at goodness knows what-o'clock because he can't walk anymore.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Hope all went smoothly atb and that you don't have to wait long for your results.
It's good to have you back with us Jojo. Sorry you have to deal with Himself's eating problems as well as your own needs - no wonder he can't cook you proper food.
I completed my list today. One of the phonecalls was to the lovely double glazing company that various members of my family have used for about 30 years: they came out in August to measure up a very old sealed unit which is not one that they fitted, which had bad condensation, plus another only five years old which was one of theirs. The son who has recently taken over the business from his parents has had a run of bad luck with a dislocated hip and several operations, and - although they'd made up the new sealed units in September - the job had somehow dropped down their list as the backlog of work piled up. Today they pulled out all the stops, and within a couple of hours of my asking how they were getting on with my order the son and one of the other fitters came out to do the work. We now have all external windows in good order, plus a new letterbox flap (the spring on the old one had perished), and another job has been crossed off my Toots list
However, we had to empty and move the tool cupboard in the back porch to give access to one of the sealed units, and in trying to move it DH leaned back against the internal window between the porch and the utility which is single glazed, with secondary glazing on the utility side, and of course it shattered. He was lucky not to get cut! Fortunately the glass shards were trapped in the space between the window and the secondary glazing. The men kindly cleared out the broken pane, but I shall have to get a new pane and some putty and ask DS1 to fit it for me. Grrr to DH's thinking that a piece of glass would hold his weight!
Another job to add to the Toots list sigh!
Rosie has been playing with her Father Christmas toy all day :rotfl:0 -

Scan was clear :j:j:j:j they are just fatty lumps, hurrah! Thank you for your support, no-one other than DH knew in RL, so knowing you lovely lot were thinking of me made such a difference.
It's pitch black here, I'll walk the dog once it lightens. We have friends over for a big dog walk and a meal later with their kiddies which will be lovely.

Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Sorry work is pants YL. Enjoy your weekend.
I'm so pleased for you ATB! It's not very often in life we get to cheer about fatty bits of us, but on this occasion *Yay hay*! :j:j:j
Oh Ionafan, I so know that crossing one thing off a list while adding another job on because something got broken in the process!
Jojo, it's probably the nuclear emotional fallout from being a carer to his father - all of the responsibility, none of the power - while the rest of the family looks on and criticizes and does nothing to help. You don't need to ask me how I know, suffice it to say I haven't the slightest interest in speaking to either of my brothers ever again - and that situation has been unchanged for more than 12 years. It's profoundly depressing to discover the hard truth about one's own family. Carers can't afford to have a meltdown while they're actually doing the caring. It's far more likely to happen afterwards.Honey_Bear wrote: »That means I won't have to do much to the house over the weekend, because it's all sort of done. Sort of is good enough.
Famous lasties. I knew I'd have to go up to the attic to get down all of the stuff I've been secreting up there to do a craft fair - my first, next Sunday - to start putting all of the elements together ready to load the car at 6.15 am on the day itself. I ended up doing over two hours shifting about up there in the end, and am now dealing with the non-craft stuff that should be elsewhere in the house and sorting out summer stuff being put away and winter stuff coming out. Eventually I'll get back to the sewing bit of today's list.
On the upside, OH has managed to fix a lock that's been broken for 20 years which we need to be working over Christmas to keep the kittens safe while some friends' dog is in the house. I'm very, very pleased about that and OH is chuffed as nuts about his surprising achievement. :rotfl::T:rotfl::T:rotfl::TBetter is good enough.0 -

Day = made; so very, very pleased for you:j:j:j:j:j
Family road trip in a transit to take an Ikea Hemnes wardrobe to DD's new flat. When she leaves there we are gifting it...:rotfl::rotfl:
DS has a crunched thumb and worked hard and drove us both ways (and got staff discount on the van hire).
Also took some of her clothes. Still stuff to go; now she has space she's clearing her room and chucking stuff. I'm now the proud owner of two part used deodorant sprays:money:
Holiday dahn sarf cancelled because one of the aged P's is unwell; probably a good thing as I am itching to tidy up once she goes tomorrow.
So I am back in charge next week (but many thanks to Jazee who was going to step in and has promised to be available for thread supply in the future).Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
