How many bank accounts do we have?

1. (Well actually HALF - because I share 1 account with Wife - but that wasn't on Poll) We put in what we earn and take out what we need. All joint. What's mine is yours and yours is mine ethos. No dicking around with who pays what, and calculating how much this or that or who pays more or less. Life's too short.0

All regular posters on here would advise at least 2 current accounts with different banks. How would you cope if your bank suffered the sort of problems which hit TSB meaning some customers had no access to their accounts for weeks? Other banks have had similar, though shorter lived, issues.0 -
I have two accounts - one in EU (in Euro) and one in USA (USD).0

This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."0 -
If savings accounts has better rates I doubt that many people would feel the need to have more than two current accounts.
I probably would only have had 1 account if Nationwide hadn't insisted on opening a FlexAccount before they'd give me a mortgage.
I've now got 10 current accounts, most of which are just used as "savings" accounts.0 -
I've got 7 accounts in total - 5 current accounts (3 UK, 2 foreign) & 2 UK savings account. Gets crazy keeping track of how much is in what account, looking to streamline to 3 soon!🤞0

I’m targeting a reduction this year - but I’ll probably always keep current accounts with First Direct, Halifax and RBS so I have a good spread across banking groups!0 -
Current Accounts - We'll have 8 less once we've consolidated them into Santander!! So we'll only be left with 5 after that. 3 x TSB, 1 Club Lloyds and a Santander 123 Lite.
We have many other accounts being Reg Savers, Fixed term accounts and Internet saving accounts. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
I'll be ditching some over the coming months now that the great current account interest boom is over but I'll still have a lot. My Tesco accounts are old enough to not require DDs but at 1% keeping them is useless. My two Bank of Scotland accounts at 1.5% is also pointless, considering I can get that in an easy access savings account without needing DDs.
I'll keep any that still earn good interest (2x TSB), earn rewards (Halifax, Barclays), are required for regular savers (First Direct, Santander, M&S, Club Lloyds), provide free travel insurance (Nationwide), or earn cashback on bills (NatWest).0 -
x2 Natwest. One for my wage to go into, then every month I transfer my rent into the other account and then set a timed payment for the 8th of every month for it to be paid out of that account. It keeps me from accidentally spending my rent, which is the most important bill for me0
