How many bank accounts do we have?
Comments
-
Three. My personal day to day current account with Halifax and a joint account with Halifax with my partner for household bills and expenses. I also have a current account with NatWest through which I run all the transactions for the property that I rent out so that I can keep the finances separate from everything else.0

I have 3:
Bank of Scotland Classic Vantage which is my main account, plus the linked monthly saver
TSB which I use for paying some bills
Halifax which I use for paying other bills- Bank of Scotland Classic Vantage, still my main account, with the linked monthly saver
- TSB which I use for some bills
- Bank of Scotland Platinum account - I needed to renew my AA, and take out mobile phone insurance (not covered in other insurance I have), and the fee was cheaper than paying separately. I use this for most of my bills as well.

I have four, but I only use one on a day to day basis.
TSB Classic Plus for everyday
First Direct 1st, just to fund a Regular Saver
Nationwide FlexAccount, just to fund a Regular Saver
Tesco Bank Current Account, but the rate will drop soon so will keep it a donor account.
I have four regular savers, a help to buy isa and a lifetime isa. I've kept some basic online savers open from banks I've had current accounts with for switch incentives purely so I'm still on their system for potential future accounts or switches.0 -
Two actual current accounts.
The others are savings accounts in one way or another.0 -

Did this ever happen before the 2008 financial crash saw savings rates crash?
The banks have us jumping through insane hoops for a few pounds a month and we end up boasting about how much we have bought into their manipulative measures.
And the banking executives are laughing all the way to....... well not the bank and more likely some exotic offshore haven.
PS: I have a mere 7 current accounts, 8 savings accounts and 5 zero percent interest balance transfer credit cards.
I totally agree. How does one manage with 11 accounts, or is that a joke.
I have two and that's enough. This switching back and forward for 100 here and 150 there is too much work for me.
People need to realize just because the banks have these switching schemes, they are not in the business to lose money and until we learn that we are doomed.0 -
How many I have and how many I use are two different things hehe
TSB Classic Plus is my everyday current account. I have Nationwide FlexAccount and First Direct 1st Account purely to fund their linked regular savers, so for 99% of the month there's only £1 in them. Lining up to switch a donour Santander Everyday Current Account to M&S Bank.0 -
10 Current Accounts
12 Regular Savers
27 Savings Accounts
But there's always room for more on my Magic Money Tree

This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."0 -

In any case, all commercial organisations spend money in one form or another to recruit customers (advertising, loyalty schemes, rebates, or even investing in product development!) and will naturally understand that some are stickier than others - many on here will be right at one end of the spectrum by tarting around chasing the best deals and moving on at the first opportunity but that's not a negative comment, it's just the way it is, so to conclude that "we're doomed" seems an unnecessarily melodramatic perspective! Doomed in what way exactly?0
