How many bank accounts do we have?
Comments
-
Halifax reward account plus 3 savings accounts.
2 TSB plus account (maybe its called classic plus)
1 Lloyds account with my club Lloyds benefit plus 2 savings accounts
2 Barclays current account, I think 2 savings accounts plus H2B account.
1 RBS current account
Plan is to switch 1 of the Barclays accounts to maybe Santander and the other to possibky Nationwide, not sure I'll keep the 2 TSB accounts.0 -
Some early posters seemed incredulous of people having more than 11 current accounts:
For those that don't go back to the earlier days of incentives and the omissions in T&Cs - there are people on here KNOWN to have had more than 11 current accounts...with ONE bank.0 -
11...! ssshhh u know who0

how do you have eleven bank accounts? i dont have that many dds is that my downfall or is it the amount you earn?0

Only two:
- Barclays Premier with blue rewards: main account for all bills and spending, monthly fee £4. However, I'm currently getting triple rewards until Nov 2020 (£36/month, as my mortgage is also with them).
- Nationwide FlexPlus: my back up account, monthly fee £13. Keeping it for the insurance package and for travelling abroad (no fee currency purchases and withdrawals). Also, incoming £ transfers from overseas are free (Barclays for example charges £6 for the pleasure).

You have to be creative with the DDs! as an example one savings a/c gets £1 per month (the interest is so dismal on that that I don't feel guilty!) If needed there are ways and means......
However the current a/cs paying any decent interest have diminished in recent times- no longer any great incentive to jump thro' the required hoops!
Now the way to earn a decent sum is to switch an account or two so when Tesco a/cs became (almost) redundant they found new homes with a welcome 'handshake'Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Not all bank accounts need DDs, not even all the ones that pay interest or some other extra benefit.0
