Cheque paid in at Post Office missing

Options
For the second time this year I have paid in a cheque to the Post Office using FD slips and envelopes and it has gone missing. What a joke! This one was paid in 8 days ago and still no sign The previous one took 29 days to arrive (by which time I had complained and was offered a credit as an apology to cover the value of the cheque - so ended up slightly ahead).

Now I understand the banks need to close branches, but they cannot seriously tell me that these peculiar arrangements via the post office are a viable alternative! None of my banks support cheque scanning via their app yet.

Yes, I hate cheques but sometimes there is no alternative on offer.

Perhaps then the answer is to open an account with a bank that does support cheque scanning and use that to pay in any cheques you receive.

If by FD you refer to First Direct then they have never had branches and your reference to branches closing is irrelevant,

It is relevant because you can use HSBC branches free of charge.
