‘Gareth’ from MotoNovo just called there to introduce himself as my new handler and informed me that after reviewing the case he has decided to back my rejection!
He says that the dealer doesn’t understand the procedure of law and doesn’t understand why he can’t just repair the car. He said he wants to call the 3 independent mechanics to query their findings. ‘Gareth’ will call me back this afternoon or tomorrow to inform me of whether the dealer has accepted the rejection or whether the finance company are going to take it further to collect the costs and sell the car themselves. Either way Gareth says I will be removed from the equation.
THANK FU*K!!
I hope ‘Simon’ got a telling off too.0 -

Good to hear you finally got this resolved.
Car dealers can be fine, but also can be nightmares. I have been lenient with the dealer on my last 2 cars (both built to order) with relatively minor issues as both were relatively new models, but at the same time they have sorted issues without question, collected and delivered, left a replacement vehicle and generally not messed me about or eaten into my time.
You seem to have got a bad one, but it’s good to hear that the finance company have done their job properly and are sorting the issue to your satisfaction.💙💛 💔0 -
So, the dealer is coming to collect the car on Monday morning and I asked the Finance company what happens with the V5 Document. They say I’ve to just hand it over to the dealer with nothing being signed over as apparently the dealership doesn’t take ownership of the vehicle again. Is this correct? I don’t really want the next buyer of this car having my name on the document that they sign upon purchase.
Anyone got any ideas of what’s correct protocol?
Thanks0 -
You'll want any remaining VED refunded to you, so you'll probably have to notify DVLA. Plus you'll have to notify your insurance.
Wait for some other replies, but I don't think I'd feel comfortable simply handing the V5 over.0 -

THe vehicle will go into a trade status, which effectively means it doesn’t have a registered keeper.
I believe the part of the V5 document that will need to be filled is yellow, ideally in front of both of you so you can take a copy.
See the above post in addition.💙💛 💔0 -
Thanks guys. Can I ask what VED is please?0
-
VED is Vehicle Excise Duty and was previously known as car tax and before that, road tax.0

Awesome thank you. I called DVLA earlier and they advised me to sign and date section 9 of the V5 and have the dealer do this also.
The finance company really don’t have a clue do they!!
All I’m waiting on now is the dealer claiming I’ve scratched the car.
The finance company said they will give me my money back once the dealer receives the car in a satisfactory condition (aesthetically) - the same condition as it was sold.
Here we go again, eh!0 -
Make sure that you give the car a very good clean and polish (I would suggest that you do this yourself rather than trusting any valet companies) and take plenty of high quality photographs of the vehicle just before you hand the keys over.0

I'd make a thorough video of the state of the car to forestall any arguments about its condition.
