I think if yoiu re-read the whole thread from post #1 you may see that several people asked questions in order to get a clear picture and provide help but all we got in response was vague half-answers and more contradictory information. Requests for clarification were met similarly.

Exactly, hence my baffled comment. And my comment as to what teachers would reply to a baffled student. I had read all the questions, with zero understandable replies.

Being baffled means you dont understand. At all. Which you should agree with me rather than being insulting and insulted. After all you dont understand pensions, and I didnt understand you not answering questions factually.

All we want here is to understand, and once understanding to help you get to where you want to be.

To be fair to the OP, pensions are not just one of the most important financial products we interact with and depend on in our lives, but in an internet-saturated information-overloaded world, they depend on rules and numerical details that are extremely obscure.

You could end up feeling it would be easier to find out how to raid Fort Knox than access what you're entitled to and have been paying towards through your entire career.

When there's a billion organisations blasting info to you to make it easy for others to take money from you, it doesn't seem to be anybody's job to steer you towards your entitlements that you've earned.

Hats off to Jem16 and the rest of you for posting what you can to fill this gap.
