If you move address at any time in the next 6 years, you must write to CEL to inform them of your new address. CEL love those who move address and fail to tell them. Much of their business model is centred around gaining default judgments in their favour at highly inflated values.Absolutely, because their favourite modus op is to serve proceedings on addresses, and especially where those where they get no reply (motorist moved in, as per your case), they proceed to force a default judgment, in abstentia, in their own favour.
Then you've got a mountain to climb!I am so stupid totally forgot to inform CEL about my new address.
Today I was checking my credit score on Clearscore. There is a notification in my credit report
states "A CCJ/Bankruptcy/Debt relief will be added to your next credit report."
I called County Court Business Centre and they have confirmed there is a CCJ againt me.
It's not as though I didn't warn you, even though at the time I had no idea you were going to change address. It's what CEL thrive on - judgments in default in respect of those who miss court papers because they didn't update their new address with them. It's a major plank of their business model.
:doh:Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Le_Kirk, Umkomaas,
Thanks for your reply.
I can't take it anymore. Too much on plate already specially when looking after my disabled son.
I had called County Court Business Centre yesterday and gave them my new address.
CCBC Call Centre agent told me if I pay before 7/09/2019 CCJ will not go on my credit file.
I called CEL to get my address updated and make payment. They said my address has been updated in
their system and I can make payment over the phone. I would rather make online payment then over the phone so I went online to make payment. It still show my old address againt my PCN.
Yesterday I had already sent a notice of change of address to CEL.
It has been received today at 11:40.
Should I wait till my new address shows on CEL website online payment option or should i go ahead and make a payment with my old address?
CEL says they can take payment over the phone and will send receipt to my new adderss.
Thanks.0 -
Address is irrelevant
Payment is what matters now.0
