Is this a Letter Before Action?

  • Thank you all for looking at the letter and providing the forum links to read.
I will ignore and file all the letters from debt collectors.
Will come back if I received any court correspondence.

    Not from a court yet.

The next step has to be a LBA .. Letter before action or similar.

This is where CEL must obey the law and provide you with
proof of their claim plus give you 30 days to respond

If you get that, come back here

Do read up about CEL, especially the fact that they often discontinue
claims before court because their case is very weak

Do plenty of research now because it is almost inevitable that you will be hit with a court claim somewhere down line - the more you are ready and prepared for this, the better you will be able to deal with it.

If you move address at any time in the next 6 years, you must write to CEL to inform them of your new address. CEL love those who move address and fail to tell them. Much of their business model is centred around gaining default judgments in their favour at highly inflated values.

  • Latest Update;

So it's been almost 2 months and I haven't received any letter from Civil Enforcement LTD.
Seems like CEL gave up on me (Thanks to you guys).

I read somewhere in moneysaving forum even if you don't hear anything from CEL you must inform them if you change your address. I will be moving in next month. Should I inform Civil Enforcement LTD about this?

    Thanks.

Absolutely, because their favourite modus op is to serve proceedings on addresses, and especially where those where they get no reply (motorist moved in, as per your case), they proceed to force a default judgment, in abstentia, in their own favour.

Then you've got a mountain to climb!

Never ever use any form of post that requires a signature when writing to a parking company.

All that does is allow them to refuse delivery.
Proof of non-delivery is not what you want.

Use standard 1st class and get a free Certificate of Posting from the Post Office counter.

The item is deemed delivered two working days later.

Why do people do this even though the NEWBIES thread tells you not to?

I am so stupid totally forgot to inform CEL about my new address.

Today I was checking my credit score on Clearscore. There is a notification in my credit report

states "A CCJ/Bankruptcy/Debt relief will be added to your next credit report."

    Upcoming Updates
A Unknown will be added to your September report.
    Name: ***** *********
    D.O.B.: Unknown
    Court Date: 07-08-2019
    Amount: £293.00
    Set Aside Date: Unknown
    Case Number: *********

Eearly in the morning I've sent a letter to CEL. Notice of change of address.
I called County Court Business Centre and they have confirmed there is a CCJ againt me.

I don't want any debt or CCJ on my credit file.
    What should I do?
Should I wait till CEL update my address in their system then make payment?

    Any suggestion please.

    Thanks.

Are you saying you missed court papers and therefore a court appearance? If you've managed to get in touch with the court, you should do so again and ask them for a copy of the judgment and on there will be a date by which you must make the payment in order to avoid the CCJ going on your record. If you can still make it in time, it is your decision whether to pay it or not, i.e. would you have won the court case if you had attended. If it is too late to pay (or you decide not to pay), then you need to apply for a set-aside and quickly. See NEWBIE sticky post # 2 for set-aside help.
