Overstayed in Sainsbury's

My partner recently went to Sainsbury's with her mum (in mum's car). This was quite a big step for my partner as she suffers with anxiety and panic attacks. Unfortunately, she suffered an attack while out and they never got to do the shopping. They walked around in the fresh air for a bit until she was composed enough to come home. Unfortunately this lead to them receiving a PCN from Horizon Parking. They were there for 91 mins when only 1hr is 'allowed'.

The PCN was issued on 10 Oct. I guess the first task is to appeal. As that is normally rejected, should I worry too much about what to put in the appeal?

Thanks

You are quite right - complain to the CEO first though but when dealing with the PPC, stick to the blue template appeal as-is, so you don't make any mistakes like identifying the driver.

Yes, I heard it is not a good idea to identify the driver. Why is that though?

Simple, the PPC only gets the keepers address from the DVLA
and that keeper could have various drivers so big problem
in trying to take people to court

Who is the driver ...... nobody is

    or ...

mum could be the driver ... you could be ..... and with your permission I could drive your car ......... so some one who was in the car had a panic attack .....

look up POOFA in the newbies thread fore a fuller answer ;)

This, from post #1 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread, may help answer that question:
    - this is why not to name the driver (thanks to The Slithy Tove for this explanation):

Send an indignant and hard-hitting letter to Sainsbury's CEO in addition to sending the blue template appeal to Horizon Parking. Complaining to a land management company worked for me recently, they had my NTK cancelled.

While you can use 'mitigation', i.e. the panic attack, in your email complaint to Sainsbury's, the advice I've seen here is not to identify the driver even then. But do emphasise the seriousness of the situation and customer loyalty. It's great when the company that owns the land make a parking charge disappear! They can and they do!

Thanks for the replies. My laptop broke so I had to get a replacement.

OK, I wrote to Sainsbury's, they said that they have requested that the charge was cancelled and would confirm once they received a reply. Should I just rely on that or still appeal just in case it isn't cancelled?

Until you receive confirmation from the PPC then don't miss any appeal deadline
