Who knows the Mansfield area...?

Well I went to see a few houses today, and the Mansfield one is off the list. I didn't like the area at all, but the house itself was fine.
I've seen a nice one in Spilsby, lots of things that are on my 'no' list but they don't seem to matter with this house... It's about a decade old, small rooms, little south facing garden... But the house is lovely, the town has a really homely old fashioned feel to it and the people are friendly. It just felt right....
For work I could just take a part time job in whatever comes up, I don't have a trade as such. I'm a bright gal and a grafter so I'll not be stuck. That's half the reason I'm looking at cheap little houses - so I can be mortgage free
Unless some sugar-daddy wants me as his plaything, then all bets are off!Honi swanky malyponze. Or something.0 -
I don't know where you are living now and the job situation where you live BUT be very careful in thinking you can pick up a part time job at the drop of a hat in the East Midlands towns,
You can't and what jobs are available will only be paid at NMW level and you will be competing against the large number of Eastern European immigrants in the area.
To be sure of work you will need to be within striking distance of a city.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
OP, I've just spotted this one, which is on the outskirts of Mansfield. Area is more rural but transport links are good (and reliable) into Nottingham:

My friend lives near to this village and it is well-regarded. Also close to a large town with supermarkets etc.
You could also try Edwinstowe but prices are dearer.0 -
That looks like a lovely house passingoutintheparade, bit big for me though!
Anyway I've had an offer accepted on a house. I really couldn't pick between 2 houses so I told the agent that the first person to accept my offer could have my money, and the little Spilsby jobber won! So there we go, I'm moving to Lincolnshire!Honi swanky malyponze. Or something.0
