Then why claim prior knowledge ?
A better method..yes just scare people by telling them you're checking up on them..

I know as my mate(ex postie) runs a distribution company in Edinburgh and its how the check.
They drive round areas looking for leaflets showing.
In tenements/flats they go in or look through the doors if they are glass.

You explicitly stated its a scare tactic. So you didnt make that up and have a basis of fact to back it up?

You might tell your " mate" in the business that leaving leaflets sticking out of doors is against just about every rule regarding what's classed as a reputable company . And the police don't recommend it either .

I didn't say company's don't go round checking on staff.
How have you come to that conclusion.
Why would a company knock on a door when the post I responded to was about staff being told to leave leaflets hanging out.
