  • following on from my thread about what i am getting for my mum- thinking about it, i am just as difficult to buy for ( so my children say!!) when they ask me what i want i usually ask for my usual 'smellies' cos i dont want them wasting their money on me!!

this year i am going to think long and hard about what i really really would like off them and i am going to tell them... then they will be happy and i will be happy. now what do i want.........................;) ;)

    Hi

Thanks for starting this thread as my mum cn be tricky to buy for too!

Was going to do a book lovers hamper (as suggested on a thread here) BUT WILL SAVE THAT FOR HER BIRTHDAY MAYBE! whoops sorry didn't mean to do caps there! i have done her a 12 days of Christmas box (got idea from organisedchristmas.com) but again there is a thread on here somewhere. I have already given it to her as not seeing her until Christmas now and wanted her to start it on December 13th.

I am now going to do her a holiday hamper! SOunds a bit mad but we are off to Florida (courtesy of half price plane flights via MSE of course!). So my son has designed a bag and inside we will put t shirts, shorts, suncream, a book etc etc at least these are my ideas so far but prob not very helpful for you!!

Good luck and thanks everyone for lots of good ideas!

    Thanks sammy_kaye18

I thought it was a brilliant idea, so thanks again, cos I would have been so stuck otherwise - all I had was socks for him but he will be really thrilled with something like that.

I'm forming some ideas from all your inspiration guys so keep it coming and hopefully a super plan will hatch!

What is the 12 days of xmas gift furrypig?? :)

:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A

  • That's 12 things in a gift box, each one to represent 12 days of xmas

partridge in a pear tree, gold rings, pipers piping etc

I do like the calling birds idea!
  • we have a 'bookman' who drops books and gifts into the office and then comes and delivers the orders a couple of weeks later. i think he's from the book people or laughing seagull. anyway, he's left a gorgeuos tan suede bound photo album with 'the grandchildren' on it in gold. its only a £5 so ive ordered it and am now busy getting pix together of all my mums 9 grandkids and 1 (up to now)great grandchild. my mum is really hard to buy for , she always does the 'you should spend your money on me' routine and she must have oil of olay and body shop white musk coming out of her ears now!!
