We viewed twice. The first time we knew we liked it, but knew it had issues. The second time, we went to ascertain how bad the issues were. Once we had done that, we made our offer before leaving the property, directly to the seller.
We then viewed a couple of times more to measure up etc.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Ive only bought two houses and I did the same on both.
Viewed on a Saturday morning and were shown round by the agent/vendor. Went home and discussed with my husband. As we both really liked the houses, we asked to view the next day. First house my mum came along aswell. We then went round alone, gave each other the nod, and put in offers immediately.
If people are wondering why the second visit so quickly, its more of a double check and the chance to see alone. Even though I know I wanted both houses, its not something Ive done many times and I think its helpful to be sure you want it before you start offering.0 -
One viewing, offer in, then one other visit to size for curtains.0

We viewed twice. Our house wasn’t on the market when we first viewed and we would only have sold for that house so our second viewing was just to make sure before ours went on the market.0

We viewed this house once before putting in an offer, then again afterwards to measure up etc.
It was the old owners that showed us around and we probably spent the best part of an hour being shown everything in minutiae. We would probably not have been so quick to offer if we had been him around by an agent.
We did however spend a lot of time both before viewing and between viewing and offering doing late night and rush hour scope outs etc, plus a fair amount of desk research.The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.

The first house we made an offer on we viewed twice.
The second which we are now buying we viewed once - exactly the same layout as house 1 so we knew we’d put an offer in if there was nothing horrendously bad to be seen.0 -
Current house viewed twice before offer, but only because first time it was the EA showing us round and they didn’t know how to get into the internal garage and the vendor had locked another room from the outside so we couldnt see that either.
Usually once before offer, but our last EA remarked that we viewed houses for a lot longer than usual - most people are in and out in 10 minutes, they said, which I find almost impossible to believe, but shex as adamant.0 -

I was round 4 times, but out of those only 2 were for actual viewings. Once was to ask some questions about the upstairs neighbour and some weird planning applications he had put in (neighbour also the vendor’s brother) and the last time was at the invitation of the vendor to give us some new information on the neighbour’s intentions.0

I can usually tell if I want a property in the first 30 seconds.
But, to make that ‘yes I like it’ choice, then suss out the issues, all in 10 minutes? People obviously make decisions about spending huge amounts of money quicker than us. Which is obviously fine, everyone’s different. Perhaps we’re too cautious?0
