I remember when it became compulsory, someone launched a range of jackets that were coloured to make it look like you were wearing a seat belt.

    :D

Indeed. Seat belts were very much treated with suspicion and viewed as restrictive.

I'm odd. I used to fit seat belts to my old cars in the 60s, Anglias & Corsairs, & even wear them. Probably for the best considering how I used to drive back then.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

I also specifically choose cars that have cloth seats. Just so much better for me, really hate especially the man made leather.

The absorption of liquids etc attributed to cloth seats can easily be prevented by using something like THIS.

Best not to mention that alloy wheels do nothing for me whatsoever and I am happier to have a car with steel wheels.

Whys it best not to mention it? Thats entirely your view and not necessarily a bad one at that. If you dont like alloys, you dont like alloys.

Hard to get a new car without alloys these days but certainly older cars IMHO can suit steel wheels better.

I've replaced alloys with steel wheels before now if i'm going for a certain look with a car or if its adds to its originality.
