Vodafone debited on wrong day!

Hi Surfer
you are having a bad week:eek: . There is nothing clear cut about getting your money back on a second failed attempt at collecting your direct debit as once the instruction has gone to the bank they cannot cancel and that usually starts from the bill date. The best you can do is to explain calmly that you did instruct them to cancel the direct debit and that you had a reply leading you to believe that had been carried out and see if they will credit you that money.
The best way of dealing with any direct debit cancellation is to do it direct with the bank as they are the ones who will charge you not the company0 -
Just to top it all my car insurer debited my debit card twice but only one payment is reflected on their screens. Bank states that it is up to the insurer to rectify the problem and do a refund. Insurer states that they want proof that the amount has been taken from my account twice and I can't do thsi without showing them my statement. Catch 22!0

If you want the money, why not show them your statement. Doesn't seem too outrageous a request.
You can obliterate anything you don't want them to see.0 -
Send them a copy of your bank statement.
Anytime i have set up a DD i always give a suitable date in each month, my DD's never come out on the exact date each month. I always leave enough in at the beginning of the month incase i get caught out with a bank charge.0 -
Hi,
Sorry for the problems you've had with this. Perhaps there's something we can do. We'd need to have a look at your account to get a fuller picture first.
If you send us an e-mail through our Vodafone online contact us form here, we can have a look into this for you. Remember to include all of the details that the form asks for so that we can look at your account and get back to you as quick as possible. Also if you include the code FIT135 somewhere in the body of your e-mail, this will come to us here in the forum team and we can help.

I responded to the first email answer recevied from Vodafone reiterating that DD is to be cancelled and secondly I asked where in the Terms & Conditosn does it state that I will incur a £3 admn charge if I do not pay by DD. Vodafone still have responded to that email. I then raised a second email on Wednesday but have not had a reply as yet. In the second email I advised that although I have 5 months left on my contract, when it ended I wanted it cancelled. This evening I had a call from Vodafone sales department trying to sell me some add on. It took him a few minutes to realise that I was not very happy chappy. Perhaps they should have a look at http://www.bacs.co.uk/BACS/Consumers/Direct+Debit/FAQ/?st=idbaek45iujlnyud3kisevax&c
If you are genuine which I assume you are, my post code is DY13 0LU as I am not writing another email to Vodafone as the next one will be a preliminary because I am very annoyed.
If you are able to help, it would be appreciated.0 -

Perhaps you could have looked at that link as well - you wouldn't be in this mess if you had!

Surfer,
The £3 charge is being investigated, this does not mean it is illegal.Gone ... or have I?0 -

Hi Surfer,
I'm sory if you've e-mailed before and not got a response or the one that you wanted. I know you'll understand we can't search your acccount from just your postcode and we wouldn't give your account information out on a public forum anyway.
I'd like to ask that you to give our forum team a chance to sort this out for you. If you included the code FIT135 somewhere in the body of your new e-mail, this would come to the forum team and we could help you out.
A link to the Vodafone online contact us form is here. I do hope we can help finally resolve this with you very soon.
