    Mine is showing charges, too.

I've just spoken to Now TV and they said that it is free as of Oct 1st, but pending a systems change they are having to charge customers and place a £1 credit on their accounts. The credit (unfortunately) doesn't show on the account summary on the website.

Yeah, I'm talking to them now via chat and been told the same thing.

@AndyPK, are you phoning from a phone that's got the number stored on the house phone? I've not tried from a non-stored number yet.

    I'm chatting now.

    Thanks for the info.

I've had caller display working on both these phones, when I was with Sky.

    Still not sorted.

Tara (10/18/2018, 8:54:48 PM): OK can you check the settings on either handset for me please?
null (10/18/2018, 8:55:56 PM): Yes, I'm fairly sure they are correct. I have had them working previously, and they are 2 different types of phone. Is it enabled for phone number 69xxxx ?
Tara (10/18/2018, 8:56:36 PM): Yes it has been fully enabled
Tara (10/18/2018, 8:57:24 PM): Also for the charge that is upcoming the amounted of £1.68 has been added as a credit for the next bill, but the caller display will be updating to free on our systems come November
null (10/18/2018, 8:59:24 PM): Ok. It still isn't working on either phone unfortunately.
Tara (10/18/2018, 9:02:12 PM): Really sorry about that, just bare with me a moment
Tara (10/18/2018, 9:04:29 PM): Ok can you try dialling 1471 - this feature tells you who was called last, just need to see if this is also effected
null (10/18/2018, 9:05:20 PM): just tried that. It gives me the number.
Tara (10/18/2018, 9:06:01 PM): Ok perfect, what phone socket are you currently connected to, is there any writing on this at all?
    null (10/18/2018, 9:06:33 PM): It's a secondary socket.
Tara (10/18/2018, 9:07:13 PM): Do you have one that has BT, Openreach or a T for Telecom symbol?
    null (10/18/2018, 9:07:18 PM): yes
Tara (10/18/2018, 9:07:36 PM): Do you have one phone to connected to this one?
null (10/18/2018, 9:09:50 PM): I didn't. I have just tried plugging a phone in there, but still no caller display when I ring the line
Tara (10/18/2018, 9:10:43 PM): Ok that would be the mastersocket so it is the one we would recommend using, how many ports are on this socket?
    null (10/18/2018, 9:10:53 PM): 2
null (10/18/2018, 9:11:08 PM): DSL and phone
Tara (10/18/2018, 9:11:32 PM): Do you have the master microfilter connected to this also?
null (10/18/2018, 9:12:00 PM): No, it is built in to the master socket
Tara (10/18/2018, 9:12:58 PM): Can you remove the faceplate of this socket and try connecting the phone line directly to the test port inside the socket?
null (10/18/2018, 9:13:21 PM): I'll run some tests over the next few days, Connecting to just the test socket. I can't do this now as it will disconnect this online chat!
null (10/18/2018, 9:14:22 PM): Thank you for looking it to this for me and sorting my bill credit. I will do some tests and get back to NowTv if I'm still having problems
Tara (10/18/2018, 9:14:55 PM): That's ok, sorry for the hassle with this
null (10/18/2018, 9:15:14 PM): No problem. Thanks for looking. Have a good evening.

EDIT: Humm. CD does work from the test socket.
I haven't worked out what has going on yet, but plugging in some phones stops it.

Thanks evryone, as the OP they rang me back yesterday to resolve my complaint and stated it would be free and added the feature to my hpone (it works)

I've just checked my bill and I too have inflated charges for November, with no mention of the credit (I understand from your replies that it is invisible currently).

Given that I was spoken to by phone and emailed, I'd have expected them to mention this tardy accounting method. Unfortunately I re-read this thread AFTER firing off another complaint...

I'm with Virgin Media and a few days ago the phone suddenly started showing caller-id. Didn't know anything about these changes, so it was a pleasant surprise :T

You must be one of the lucky ones, ive jut made my second request and been told again, "it will take 24 hrs"!

I'm with Vodafone for home phone. I've just activated it via web-chat and was told 24 hours as well. So glad it's free, I hate it when I cannot see who's calling and I wasn't willing to pay for it.

The regulations say that phone companies have to make CLI available where it is technically feasible to do so. Consumers then have the option to enable the service or not. There is no automatic switch on for all.

The 1471 service works irrespective of CLI, but only divulges any details after the call ends.

Did you read post 5?, it should be enabled requested or not, Virgin confirmed this.
