Do I have grounds for opening a chargeback request against Aeromexico?

Because my ticket is useless basically! They've categorically said they now REQUIRE my middle names on my ticket-which it doesn't have
If it doesn't exactly match my passport then I will be denied boarding!0 -

You have already been told that the Aeromexico website states the middle name is "optional" when booking.0 -
It's a bit extreme but you could change your passport. It would cost £75.50.

I don't think we are getting the full story... why did you telephone the airline in the first place? And why are you telling us that your ticket was changeable at the time you bought it: Last Minute generally does not allow changes to any of the air tickets that they sell? And how come you have been offered a refund by the airline: when a ticket is sold by an agent the refund (minus the agent's fees and commission) has to come from the agent rather than directly from the airline.
As others have said: your booking appears to be fine, in accordance with the instructions given on both the Aero Mexico and Last Minute websites. I would ignore anything said on the telephone by a call centre agent who is probably poorly trained and perhaps does not speak enough English to understand your question. Perhaps you should take screenshots of the relevant bits of the two websites and email these, together with an image of your passport, to the airline to get confirmation that you are OK to travel. Only if they sent you something in writing saying that you could not fly would you have any chance of a chargeback.0 -

Which I've also said to at least 6 of their employees, and they all state that it doesn't matter-all names on the passport have to be on the ticket
Apparently it's not optional but imperative0 -

I called the airline to double check my flight details, I've never bought a ticket via third party so I wanted to be sure before I order my Cuban visa (where I'm travelling to)
The man asked for my full name, and when I said my middle names he said if they are on the passport then they need to be on the ticket. When I asked if I could add them-he said (along with at least 5 people after him) that changes aren't possible.
One of the agents said because I'm stopping in Mexico that it wouldn't be a problem getting there with the ticket-HOWEVER getting to Cuba isn't guaranteed!
Then the next person said when I go to check in at Heathrow airport that I will probably be denied boarding from the get go! No one is really giving me a straight answer-they've all just said, refund the ticket with lastminute and buy a new one, or just turn up at the airport and see what happens.
Changes were permissible at the time of booking, but they said as of 25th September no name changes/additions whatsoever are allowed, even though I bought mine before they changed the rules.
Refunds are permitted, and lastminute said they have to contact Aeromexico for them to calculate said refund.
I asked Aeromexico why it said optional on their website if it is an absolute must? They said that's a problem with I.T. And I should take it up with the I.T. Department.0 -

Several points:
Firstly, assuming you have a British (or any major country's) passport, you need not a visa but a tourist card for Cuba. These are sold by most airlines that fly there: the AeroMexico website says that it sells them near the departure gates in the airports in Mexico City and Cancun. So rather than ordering one in advance, just make sure that you have the exact money, in the right currency, to pay for one.
Secondly, major organisations do not invest in training the people who answer their telephones. Information that is provided on websites has far greater legal standing than anything that is said over the telephone. Since you have followed the instructions given on their website they would face fairly severe penalties if they denied your boarding. In short: I think you should stop worrying and prepare to enjoy a wonderful country (perhaps you ought not to make any non-refundable bookings for your stay, but in Cuba that is not usually necessary).0 -
Yes, I would take a print out of the bit on the site where it say 'middle name optional'
In future if there is a middle name on your passport always use it when booking any flights.0 -

But if there isn't a field for the middle name on the booking engine ...0 -
Then there is no way he has to worry.......0
