Good evening chums and lots of <<hugs>> to all those who are in need ,sadly so many are having a rough time at the moment.

I have had a busy week so far this week ,Book club on Monday, when we found that because of council cuts we have to wait until there are enough books in to cover us all !!! I support a tiny library (not local to me ) because if they don't get 'footfall' it will be closed Daft that knowing its got a flourishing book club ,suddenly there seems to be a shortage of books Hmm... so I took out five books that I probably won't get the time to read but it pushes up 'footfall' :):)

Tuesday I had to go to PC world with DGS Ben and sort out a new lap-top for DGS Jack as his one has gone to the great techy junk yard in the sky, basically he can only use it via plugging in, the battery won't work it, even though he bought a new one, so plugging in is OK but after 10 minutes the fan kicks in very noisily and in the Uni library he was getting lots of shh's and daggers looks :)

So off the PC world where the first 6 we looked at were very nice but they only had them for display only and none in stock !!! This is a huge store as well but eventually we managed to find one that they had so £180 lighter in my pocket I treated DGS Ben to lunch as I had expected to pay out at least £250 so my economics mad me figure I was still in front :):)

This morning I had the audio clinic at my hospital for my 6 month check up and had a new wire put on my hearing aid so its working better now .As I cam out of the hospital there was a stall with some very ernest looking folk on there and one lass smiled and said Hello so being a polite old biddy I stopped and chatted and came away with a biro, a jute shopping bag and a couple of toffees :)

Haven't a clue what they were doing there when I stopped but apparently it was about abuse and violence towards the elderly, as if anyone would get away with being abusive to me :):)
Toffees were nice though :) and the bag will be handy for shopping and being Jute it will wash well

This afternoon I had our monthly U3A meeting and we had an excellent speaker who did a talk about Roy Orbison and Del Shannon which rolled the years back for many of us there. We were all tapping our feet and singing along at one point.Picked up my ticket for the Christmas Party while I was there as well.

Tomorrow I have my lovely gardener coming to sort the back garden for me It was a beautiful day today with the temperature in my car at 25c.

Our quiz team won and other two bottles of vino last night so we will have a share out next week.

Friday afternoon I have History club which I always enjoy and Saturday morning I am at Rochester Cathedral at The Big Knit where lots of ladies sit and knit for the Making Miracles charity I expect I will be roped in again for sewing some of the squares up again :)
the Saturday night I am off out again to another quiz night with my team it's a charity one for the local Rotary club and their charity is supporting a local dementia charity. One of my team members has a husband, sadly now in care with this dreadful illness. This time last year he used to come to our quizzes when we did Saturday night ones and now poor chap he barely knows his own wife of 53 years. Bless her she travels down to Margate twice a week to see him though.

So a very busy week, but my thoughts are still with my 'virtual' friends on here

    love 'n'stuff to you all

    JackieO xx
