Morning all, will be back later for proper reading but for now, appt went as expected yesterday, no change to future surgery, hopsital again this morning with an extra appt I could have done without but the nurse was happy smiley funny so that was ok. Have been sternly talked to about the amount of stuff I'm trying to do and have done, so many things will go on the back burner [means no playing with my new nailgun, boo]
Hey Zazen, LTNS on a board. [the vine anyway] I was most impressed by your new beds, I managed to aquire a couple from work before I stopped and they've been waiting for me to put them somewhere. Drove past a howdens the other day and saw loads outside, might stop and ask for them for next year.
Hope the day turns out well for anyone who isn't, bbl...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Thanks for starting us off Nelski :T & glad to hear that you had a room change. Everything seems so much better when you get a decent night’s sleep:) Thank you for keeping us up to date with Holly. The hospital had started off so well but seem to have fallen back into the ‘not listening to Holly way of working’She is in my thoughts.
Welcome back Zazen & congratulations on paying off the mortgage - that was a serious bit of overpaying to do reducing your repayment time by 50% :T:money: DH & I managed to do the same several years ago & it is a weight off our shouldersWinemaking, allotment & decluttering the larder - made me tired just reading about it. Looking forward to getting to know you

Cranky, what a kind friendSounds like you are enjoying the Family Trees activity - my DH got stuck into his research a few years ago & got quite into it - fathers side back to about 1780 & mothers side back to the 1500’s
He stopped a while ago as it was beginning to get a bit expensive & confusing as Christian names were all the same & in the same order
WeeMidgie, by the way I love your name:D Hope you enjoy your experimenting - Persiana eh, sounds interesting & spicyHappy the osteopath appointment went well.
Lainey, shame about having to wait for a physio appointmentbut hopefully it will be sooner rather than later

I'm still here..... sorry I haven't had time to even read, let alone post, for a few days, so I'm all out of touch with OS happenings.
Anyways, we're still plodding on; Mr Wolf's PD meds are going to be increased; I had a meet'n'greet with a Siberian Husky yesterday which I hope will result in a booking; and I now have permanent pins'n'needles in my hands and feet - fun, that! (Not).
That's the potted version of Life in the Wolves' Lair these days.

Afternoon all - I would have sworn that I posted this morning, must have just thought about it and then didn't!
The sun is out and the skies are very pale baby blue again, though there are yellow weather warnings out for Friday and Saturday. The A83 is still closed and General Wade's Road down the bottom of the glen also not being opened. Meanwhile Oban has areas still under water with the huge Tesco car park being the worst.
My teaching session this morning was calm and quiet with the students working away at a mock test. I then collected my post from the delivery office which is next door to the college. The new laptop from another part time employer is a dinky wee thing. I only do one and a half days a month for them but couldn't access their networked HR sites and email easily from my own machine.
In view of the weather warnings I'm not going down to Glasgow this weekend so I've organised milk, meds and newspaper for DM. I also don't fancy the 60 miles each way diversion in bad weather. Now I'll need to stock up my own supplies.
TA - lovely to see you posting. Four weeks is a long time away from your home though it's more than worth it to be with Bob. Your family sound great. Hugs to you all.
Poppy - I'm sorry you've been so rough, hope better times are ahead.
Snoozer - it's all doom and gloom for you just now. I think Sweden would be a fabulous place to visit and for a family to grow up in, it's just a hop and a skip away.
Camelot - SO jealous of your KB night! This is my most favourite clip of him on 'Would I Lie to You' - always makes me laugh.
Right - needs musts. Thoughts to all those who are weary, downtrodden, feeling yeugh or just need a wee cheery up.
Happy rest of Wednesday.0 -
snoozer, the state of the world is a worry:( & you worded it perfectly :T That is why I try to avoid the TV news & read freebie papers only occasionally
The world appears to have gone mad  BUT we have a haven here on the OS forum :T - so many things to be grateful for & the fact that nature is your tonic is wonderful
We can only do what we can to mitigate the bad news & always look for the silver lining
I have never been to Stockholm but I keep reading that it is a wonderful city to visit
You are allowed ‘blue’ daysyou know - it is just a bit annoying that they seem to just hit you out of nowhere
So I am sending you lots of HUGE (((HUGS))) & wishing you a wonderful holiday

Afternoon all,
Sorry for the late post, I'll go and sit on the naughty step later.
We had to go to town this morning to do some banking, then finish off buying DGD birthday present. I forgot to get some wrapping paper though . On the way home we called in Al*is for some shopping for Dad, then dropped it off. I did a few jobs for him while Mr Fix It listened to Dad rant about the government, I think he got the short straw :rotfl:. Dad seems much perkier today, TBH I thought that I was going to receive a call last night to get him an ambulance, as he was that rough yesterday evening. Anyway he hopes to come over later for his tea, so there is a gammon joint in the slow cooker and we will have that with proper chips...... the boys choice. I can't remember the last time we had those ( they really aren't allowed)
I did 2 loads in the WM this morning, hung them out and they are nearly all dry, they can go on the airer to finish off. I did finish all the ironing yesterday but now there will be a couple of items back in the basket. I wish there was an ironing fairy!
All this talk about HM wine reminds me of the time when I made blackberry wine. It was delicious, but the side effect was that I passed out and had a humongous hangover . Never touched any HM wine since !
Snoozer I felt like you last week, everything seemed to get on top of me so I shut down. Hopefully you can get yourself back to you soon. Enjoy your break.
MrsSD I have started to avoid the news as best I can too. Just made me more depressed.
Poppy many hugs
Holly thinking of you, here's a gentle ((((hug )))) from me to you.
Zazen welcome.
TA I am sending many hugs for you and your family. Your courage is an inspiration to me :A
There were a few more people I wanted to reply to, but apologies as I have forgotten who said what
On that note I shall send copious hugs to all the poorly people, those struggling with life and anyone who just needs or wants them.
Take care all

Snoozer, I second stopping paying attention to the news and newspapers. i stopped reading them and watching it a few years ago, just because I was fed up of living in fear of what was going to happen next. I've been so much happier since I did.
It's easy enough to see the most explosive news [ since everyone and their dog posts it on FB] but as for the rest, I don't need to know, I can't affect the outcome, and what time there is on this earth, I want to be as happy as possible.
Which is not to say I don't feel for the people who have been squashed, or abused in any way, but my vote is my voice and I use that.
Stockholm...green eyed monster alert! When I'm well again, my plan, funds permitting, are to take a few weeks and go around the Netherlands and Sweden on a motorbike I have yet to purchase.
Got sewing lessons tonight, am about to pin and tack my skirt sides, hope they come up to scratch! Sh'es really pushing me to do everything in a much more excating way, I love it
Sorry to hear that lots of you are unwell, from one thing or another, Poppy, chemo sucks for sure..Hope what's left of the day is peaceful...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Hi everyone
I don't often post during the week but I've had a day off with a sicky bug today. I felt queasy all day yesterday and woke at 2am to start being sick. Haven't been sick since 6am but I've still got awful pains in my tummy. Hopefully will be better tomorrow. I seem to catch every tummy bug going at work.
It has been a glorious day here so I did manage to do a little pottering about and dead-heading in the garden and then sat and read for an hour or so. Hope everyone else has had this lovely weather. I think I might try a little scrambled egg and toast.0 -
Sitting out in the garden with hedgepuss. He wouldn’t go outside without me today, even though it is beautifully sunny. I sat out and halved homegrown tomatoes for tonight’s pasta sauce and he sat on my lap. Now I’m just having a coffee before I go in, feed the cat and cook dinner. I could be in Italy with this lifestyle!
Everyone’s stories about wine have me slightly concerned!:rotfl: It will be an adventure whatever it tastes like right? I guess if it tastes lethal I can add lemonade and make a wine shandy? What’s the proper name for that? Spritzer?Grocery Challenge £114.22/ £1100 -
