Surely I do own my house???

Ok this may be a really stupid but on Zoopla you can type in a property's address and it states all sales. I've checked this so many times for friends and colleagues and it's always correct and shows their sale. Decided to just look at mine. I bought my house in 2001. It states it was last sold in 1995. No mention of my sale. I have a mortgage I've been paying for 18yrs so I'm pretty sure it's mine? It's an interest only mortgage so not actually mine til it's paid off but then that's the case with any mortgage - I just have more to pay off at the end. Does anybody know why my sale is not shown on Zoopla. Thanks.

Because Zoopla's rubbish. It doesn't show all transactions, for a variety of reasons, some of them unfathomable. Check the Land Registry if you want to see who is actually registered as the owner.0

It's asking for £3 to check ;-) but yes I agree, Zoopla probably not the most reliable then. It's just that anybody that's asked me to check it's always been correct. Just baffled as to why mine isn't.0

spend the £3 and put your mind at rest instead of worrying over rubbish you have no control over or knowledge of where and why it says what it says (or more pertinently doesn't say)0 -
If you own a property hopefully you have a copy of the title deeds & land registry entry, if not ask whomever did your conveyancing !0

Agree with above check directly at the land registry.0

You're worried you might not own your house, but you're quibbling about paying £3.00 in order to check the only reliable and official source for confirmation?
And you're querying the reliability of a totally unofficial, commercial website....

Right move shows our house was sold for a sum while we were still living there. No idea why as we didn’t remortgage. When we did sell we had no issues.0

Excuse me?? Please point out where I had written that I'm quibbling paying it?? I was merely pointing it out that the site charges £3. It's called giving information. I've already had my informative friendly answer so there was no actual reason for you to reply.0 -
It's not the case on any mortgage. You own the house, 100%.It's an interest only mortgage so not actually mine til it's paid off but then that's the case with any mortgage
You also owe somebody a lot of money, and that debt is secured against the house. But the very fact that the lender needs to get a court to pass ownership from you to them in the event of default on the loan merely confirms that you own it.
Anyway, why doesn't Zoopla show your purchase?
All Zoopla do is filter the official source of sold prices - the Land Registry, as Sunny linked to above. And that's free. Sure, you can pay for the ownership details, but this is the official version of what you're seeing on Zoopla.
But that data doesn't include every sale.
This tells you what's excluded...

I'm going to take a guess - did you buy it as a repo? They're probably the most common exclusion.0 -

Although you may not have meant it, I also got the impression that you were trying to get free information rather than paying £3 to get definite information from the official site.0
