    I did.
PIN can be issued by police, without reason or appeal.
It shows up on DBS searches when applying for jobs.

i.e. it is a method of blacklisting, employed by the police without evidence or judicial process.

It might show up on a DBS. It’s at police discretion AND the alternative is the OP is arrested for harassment- which he’s guilty of, on his own admission.

    Your ignorant statements are dangerous.
Because you may lead people to under estimate the negative impact this government can inflict on the innocent.

One of us is certainly ignorant...

But hey there’s several flights out this evening? Where would you prefer to be?....

    Seconded

Get on the agency or LL, and serve notice.

This PIN procedure, just makes it more profitable for solicitors and process servers etc.
If I had a complaint against someone now, I would be much less likely to write to them complaining, else they send the police around to summarily blacklist my name.

George Orwell seems to have been quite the profit.

It's basically a way of restricting the right to assert one's rights or complain, to the wealthy who can employ solicitors etc.
Hardly a surprise when you consider how many lawyer types are involved with the government.

Plenty of snouts at the trough, as ever...

    What are you talking about?!

For a start no-one is restricting your rights. Stop watching Owen Jones...

Secondly complain all you want, no one is stopping you. Break the law however...

    That's a good question.
Hopefully not all countries are becoming as appalling as the UK.

    I'm going to start looking.

Wouldn't surprise me if most of my posts criticizing the government are now classed as illegal in some way. Certainly critical of the cannon.

The only hesitation I'd have in doing this is whether giving notice to end the tenancy might trigger the ex and new man to be a bit 'careless' around the flat and do sufficient 'accidental' damage to ensure no deposit was left to be returned to the OP.

I can't see there is much the OP can do to prevent this, other than perhaps if the ex wishes to stay in the flat with her own new lease.

Therefore it might be in the OP's interests rather than seeking to "take the flat off her" instead to seek to facilitate her remaining there. (obviously with the OP coming off the tenancy and getting his deposit back).

The harassment issue complicates matters, but maybe a conversation with the Agent to say the relationship has broken down and he is thinking about giving notice might enable the Agent to speak to the ex about her taking it on in her own (sole) name.

It is unlikely to be beneficial to the landlord to have a reasonable(?) existing tenant move out and have to start from scratch, and the Agent will still happily collect their fee for setting up a new agreement.

Everyone's a winner, even the OP, if he gets his deposit back and can put this all behind him.

The question is can the poster get his deposit back.
Will the EX provide a new deposit !
The Landlord already has a deposit and joint tenants.

Maybe not. This is one of the risks of a joint tenancy.
