URGENT fighting County Court Claim for PCN

The case number is E1QZ7X7C and it was heard at Derby Combined court on 31st May 2019.
I dont recall the judges name, im not sure i was ever told it to be honnest, he was just referred to as the judge by the ushers.
When you look up other cases and you end up on websites with the transcripts of the judgement, how do you get this for your own case? I think with my judge ruling the 'this is not a parking charge notice' actually is, it could be a good example case for others to use. As in thr research for my own defence and wittness statement, i struggled to find any other case where a judge had said this.
And thanks for all your help coupon-mad, i really appreciate it.0 -
Nice court win, and thank you for an excellent, comprehensive court report. You did yourself proud.
For those who are starting out on this journey to court and asking for templates for everything, here is one very significant point I pulled from your report:I would also say you REALLY need to know what you are talking about with POFA and IPC code of practice. Its one thing using what other people have told you on these forums, or other witness statements as templates, or getting others to help you or even write it for you, but if you don’t know what it all actually means in a wider context, then how are you going to convince a judge when he wants you to explain in detail.
And ..... as Coupon-mad seems to have forgotten to add (tsk, tsk!) - Another One Bites The Dust. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

If you want the transcript then this is somehting you have to pay for - just the judgement is all it sounds like you need, so it would be cheaper. but you have to go through a court approved service etc. Takes time and your money.
Well done!0 -

A transcript would cost you per word; cheaper just to get the actual judgment rather than the entire hearing, and you could enquire with the court's authorised transcript company how much the final judgment might cost to transcribe. Although I know this has already cost you days of time, as you said earlier:I am on the fence though at the conclusion, as on one hand, I wanted to fight this all the way, but on the other, the time (literally days), effort and frustration I have spent on this, has cost me far more than the £60 I could have originally paid to have had it go away right at the start. I guess that’s a decision personal to the individual, but without people fighting the PPC’s, it will never get better.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks Again Everybody0 -
Hi adambuzz14,
Firstly, congratulations on your result at court. I've been following this very closely as I am a few months behind you in very similar circumstances, so to speak.
I was wondering whether you could repost your witness statement and defence as the links are no longer working (or you could email them to me if you prefer).
I am in a rush, I have to send my WS in by close of play tomorrow. I have done a lot of work on it already, but I would like to compare to yours and also to take some of the learning from your hearing too.
Thanks in advance.

Judgment was about £60 based on my recent quote, which means I will have incurred actual expenses to include the transcript of £160. About the same as the ticket.
Most of those costs were optional. Nevertheless, paying anyone else other than the PPC is acceptable and making it harder for them good karma.0 -
Just to let you know I won today v VCS. I will do a write up soon but thanks for all your contributions on here, without which I would have just paid up. Judgement was on signage alone, didn't even get to PCN or not!
adambuzz14 - I owe you a beer, or a fizzy pop, whatever you prefer!
Another one bites the dust :rotfl:0
