Incorrect name on Notice, bad location too.

I have read loads here, and cannot find a case like mine: (searched for "incorrect name", "wrong details")
Notice from CPM ( Accredited IPC operator apparently), dated 3rd Oct 2018 for "charge" late September 2018.
The address is correct but my name is misspelled, also the offence address does not seem likely.
There is a picture of my car, where I put it in the belief that it was in a hotel spot (Station Hotel Newcastle), but the hotel says it has not issued any tickets and that it may be for the Science Bar next door, but the notice makes no mention of this.
I guess my 1st point is, is an incorrect name reason to ignore the notice? My surname is misspelled (in an amusing way as it happens).
The address given is "at Neville Street", which is definitely not where the picture is as it is to the rear of the hotel and the bar via an arch you can see on Google maps between central station and the Science bar.
I fully believed that I was in a hotel spot, although the markings are very poor for the hotel spots and I am sure there were no markings for the "Science Bar".
(If any one is in Newcastle upon Tyne and could take a couple of pics for me behind the Station Hotel I would appreciate it. I was parked in front of some grey wooden temporary structure and thought it was one of the hotel spots).
If I must proceed, have I got it right that I should :
a) Appeal on CPM website within 28 days
b) Write to the |Science Bar about the wayward behaviour of CPM
Is there a way to identify that it is in fact the Science Bar? I only have the hotel receptions idea that it is them.
Thank you,
RS

In answer to your question, I don't believe a misspelt name would prevent the scammer from being able to proceed although I could be wrong?
Secondly, is your name misspelt on the V5? and if so this would potentially be classed as your mistake.
Thirdly, nobody is going to take pictures for you, there may be some in existence that if your lucky might get posted on your thread (Highly unlikely imo)
Yes you should appeal BUT make sure you know which appeal to use by reading the newbies section thoroughly.
Don't bother writing to the Science Bar about Scammers behaviour UNLESS you find out THEY have the power to cancel the PCN.0 -
Ooops. Had the car 2 years and never noticed, my name is incorrect, yikes, better get that sent off.
From reading for the last 2 hrs, I thought that my proposed course of action was laid out in my post? There was a big section on contacting the employers of CPM and having them cancel my problem.
"ALL CASES - COMPLAIN FIRST, ESPECIALLY OVER A RETAIL, HOTEL, OR HOSPITAL CAR PARK:
Always complain to the Retailer very quickly and assertively"
Then:
"Postal PCN from a BPA or IPC member ? (i.e. with no mention of any windscreen ticket):
A postal PCN or NTK might be headed up 'Reminder' or 'Charge Notice' or it may even be a letter from a debt collector - it is your Notice to Keeper, in effect, if it's the first letter to arrive. No need to wait, if the event was in England/Wales, appeal online as registered keeper"
and this I do on thew CPM website, yes?
Thank you,

is an incorrect name reason to ignore the notice?
But you need to know you are in this for the long term and are likely to WIN but at a court hearing local to you next year (don't worry, not criminal court - and no CCJ).
All appeals are IMHO inevitably turned down by IPC firms? All such threads at this stage are all the same, here's two more:

Here's one about UKCPM, nothing more to say yet:

Come back at court claim or Gladstones LBC stage, and be ready to win it then.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
