Competitions have disappeared

Good Afternoon

I was happily working my way through all the competitions ending today 07/10 and they have all disappeared.

I don't know where they have gone but they are not between 07/02 and 07/11.

Do I have to go through all 148 pages to see if they are located out of date order?

From a post in the chat corner a week ago

    As per the guidelines
WARNING: If you are entering comps on the day or even the day before they end you run the risk that perhaps the comp has closed a little early & your entry won't be counted. Another thing to bear in mind is that the Board Guides volunteer hours of their time to keep these boards clear & running smoothly so sometimes comps which are ending today or perhaps tomorrow (in rare cases) may be moved to Game Over a little early - this is a task which has to fit around their real lives & also when they have some spare 'online' time.
SUGGESTION: If you really want to only enter comps right when they are ending then I strongly suggest you get a couple of days ahead of yourself to avoid the above.

In all the years I have been using MSE to enter competitions this has never happened before. Even up until last night 06/10 the competitions for that day were still all showing after 2200.

YES! They are in "Game Over" even though many of them do not end until 23.59 tonight.

I know, I posted a comp couple hours ago and it's already in game over... bit strange as this never really happens. X

Glad someone else agrees with me. I wish I could be working days ahead but time does not permit me to get ahead of myself!. What happens to the competitions that start at 06.00 on the day? Are those also going to disappear before I get a chance to enter later in the day due to work commitments. That seems very unfair.

Perhaps you have never noticed but (although not often) it has certainly happened before, including at least once in the last 7 days

This is the post from 1/10

Also for some reason "Game Over" will not sort into date order. Are comps ending 07/10 scattered amongst the 48,002 pages in "Game Over" ?

I try and keep up to date with posts as they happen and don't rely on entering on the last day. However, I do 'hoover up' end date posts to ensure that I haven't missed anything, particularly posts from on the end date day, or perhaps the day before.

I get VERY annoyed at companies who close a competition randomly on the end date day, my view being that it should be open to just before midnight on that day unless specifically stated otherwise.

While I am extremely grateful to all the folk who spend time voluntarily keeping these boards going and do not envy them the job at all, I would hope that common sense would dictate that only competitions that have an end date IN THE PAST would be moved to game over. I would prefer that old comps are still showing on the main board until someone gets around to removing them, rather than live competitions disappearing.

Again, I thank those who do this job, but pretty please, wait until the next day....?

    I agree with you.

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time
