Space-saving door ideas

Hi
In our smallest bedroom we have a built-in cupboard with a doorway measuring 74cm width by 197cm height.
At the moment it's got a normal door on it but we want to put a single bed in front of the cupboard if possible. We can only do this if we can find a new door that doesn't eat into the room space when opened.
The best option we've found so far is something like this:
http://www.argos.co.uk/product/7003220
But it's too wide for our cupboard (and slightly too tall) and as it's made of plastic I'm assuming it can't be cut down to size.
Does anyone have experience of this type of door, or any ideas of how we can solve this annoying conundrum?
Many thanks

That's actually a good idea, and something we briefly considered, but I should have mentioned.... We have a very curious toddler and at the moment that cupboard is used for DIY equipment. Although he would have lots of fun if he got his hands on our hammers, drill, screws etc, we could probably do with something a bit sturdier to keep him safe.0

Unfortunately the doorway isn't wide enough - it's narrower than a normal internal door - so there would be nowhere for them to slide to.0

How about a sliding door [similar to office cupbaord doors] made of slats of some kind? I'm sure google will help you there

Without knowing the space you've got to work with, you could look at these:

Other makes are available.
When fitted, the wooden parts can be inside or outside of the actual cupboard, depending on your space/what you fancy.0 -
How about wooden Venetian blinds with some means of securing them in the fully closed position?
Attach eye hole hooks or similar to both sides of the lowest slat and both sides of the frame at floor level and use a pair of padlocks to lock in place.0 -
When I was faced with a similar problem I made a pair of folding doors out of wood (planks) and piano hinges, it worked quite well and, of course, I was able to make them to the size I wanted.0

The fitting instructions tell you all you need to know about that door
