Driving to Ireland

I didn't drive there but was there for a conference for several days and the whole place struck me as pretty much like the UK, driving habits, road layouts, traffic signs, mad taxi drivers.....although they do use funny money over there."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0

Also remember that in the past ( pre 2006 I think) you didn't need to pass a test to get a licence in Eire so the driving habits are pretty !!!! poor
And the other thing to remember is, if relying on Sat Nav, you need co -ordinates, not address0 -
It may depend on the system, google.ie/maps can show a location from the Eircode (Irish Postcode) input.0

Just watch Father Ted that will answer all your questions.0

And if your asked "do you fancy a pint" that in no way guarantees the actual number of pints you will be taking...:p0

On more serious notes
Don't drink and drive the limit is 50mg.
Roads are now very good. Motorways, N and R roads are to a good standard and on par with the best in the UK.
Using a Satnav that self converts to kmh is a good idea.0 -
Perhaps because the alternative would be leaving it in Liverpool!
Eejit
Nothing like a good old fashioned stereotype to tittilate the hard of thinking. All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -
Thanks. I'm looking forward to the road trip. I already have EU number plates so I don't need a GB sticker and my fully comp car insurance allows EU travelling so I'm sorted there. I don't have a warning triangle though. Not planning on breaking down either like.

It is just a recommendation, along with first-aid kit, fire extinguisher and spare bulb kit.
