Hi, i have recently challenged a parking notice using one of the mse templates, and following the pcn companies appeals process, however they have stated that as i haven't said that i am 'appealing' it, they have basically 'not accepted' it rather than rejecting it?
anyone else had this? TIA

I believe that it is fairly common. Send it again marked "APPEAL"
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P.
for unprofessional conduct
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the House of Commons recently

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

Yes from scammers in the IPC. Which PPC?
If it is an IPC firm, how does it matter anyway, no appeal works, as we all know and keep telling people not to worry about it:

No more action needed if it's an IPC firm, except to complain to the landowner.

What is the name of the PPC please.
Which template did you use? Hopefully the one from the NEWBIES, not the dreadful one from the "official" MSE website that gives away the driver's identity.
As TD has said, resend the appeal with the words, I am the keeper, here is my appeal against PCN number XXXXXXXX.
If you appealed to the scammers their website that is identified as an appeal portal, you should complain to the DVLA that your keeper appeal has been refused.
You should in any case complain to your MP and the landowner about this unregulated scam.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
NE Parking Ltd
Yes i used the template from the mse website
Thanks for the responses0 -
you should have used the blue text template from the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread near the top of this forum (not the awful MSE template)
you could send the blue text template, marked as APPEAL, but expect it to be rejected , because very few appeals are accepted by ANY private parking company
so always expect a rejection
then read that NEWBIES FAQ as to what to do next (or not)0 -
Definitely send the blue text appeal from the NEWBIES. By them rejecting your appeal you may have actually dodged a bullet because the NEWBIES template doesn't give away the driver's identity, but the official MSE template does.I married my cousin.
