GLADSTONES LBC - 3xPCN = £160, Action or no?

Hi All,
The parking situation at my residence is,.. pretty bad. There are more permits than spaces and only 1 permit per household.
There is an area (by a playpark) which is essentially dead space of tarmac (but you would consider off the road). I've parked here a few times when unable to find a space that I'm permitted to use or, I have overstayed in a Vistor space, resulting in 3+ PCN's from UK Car Park Management Limited.
I've read all the forums etc. and the general consensus has been "ignore until legals". I even almost got outwitted by DRP (the infamous fake Gladstones Letter).
But today I received the real deal (27th Sept 2018): A LETTER BEFORE CLAIM from Gladstones. Totalling £480 (£160 PCN x3).
I have rung Gladstones and arranged a payment plan of £480 over 3 months.
Though I'm wondering whether I should've fought this. The area I live is fairly water tight: the signs are available, clear and well lit. The Wardens have taken decent photos (and they've been on CPM's letters).
I perhaps went a bit overboard on the "ignore" front, and threw away any correspondence from DRP/CPM including PCNs. Guess I could claim I never received them???
Think I'm in a place now where I have to fork out the dough, but does anyone have any suggestions on how I should('ve) handle(d) this one?

NONONONONO.
NO.
Stop now.
YOU HAVEN'T SIGNED ANYTHING HAVE YOU?
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT AGREE TO A PAYMENT PLAN, OMG.Think I'm in a place now where I have to fork out the dough,
How about searching the forum for ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST UKCPM and learn how ordinary posters win these cases at hearings, week in, week out. Read all the successes and residential defences.
Why the heck do you think UKCPM have a right to interfere with residents' leases and infest this car park, running it as if it was a public site? Why are they even there, who on earth was stupid enough to agree to that?
Even if you LOST you wouldn't pay anything near £480!!!
The so-called PCNs are not £160 each.
No CCJ, even if you lost when defending - scam over! And we WIN almost all.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

That was quick... No Just said I'd call back 1st November.
Just to clarify. Thats £160 In Nov, Dec and Jan0 -
No Just said I'd call back 1st November.
Now read the NEWBIES thread 2nd post, about LBC stage, then defence stage.
And do that search to read all the wins!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Surely this is agreed by the Flat Management company to provide this err... "service"? Would the land be considered private?0 -
It is a scam, pay they not a groat.
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P.
for unprofessional conduct
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the House of Commons recently

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas. tYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Seriously you need to search around the threads and find ones that are same/similar to yours and do some reading, I too cant believe you were considering setting up a payment plan with scum like Gallstones!!!!
Even if £480 means nothing to you, defend it on principle, no wonder these parking scammers are living the dream if there's more people out there with your approach.0 -
"I have rung Gladstones and arranged a payment plan of £480 over 3 months"
You say you will ring back in November ????
Have you actually agreed this ????? Have you given
a card number ????
If not ... YOU DO NOT PAY GLADSTONES .... GOD FORBID ?
Tell us the truth0 -

Great, now do that search 'Another one bites the dust UKCPM' and laugh at how these are beatable. I promise you will LOVE reading the court reports from winners!
And try this search, to understand why YOU have rights that override the scammer:
residential primacy of contract leasePRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So now you KNOW!! what you need to do, question is are you gonna do it?
The people on here are great and know what they are talking about (I don't put myself in that bracket but I've learnt enough by being on here to know I wont pay them £0.01p I've spent about £2 on stamps and I want that back one day, THATS!!! how much I despise these scammers)
Get reading the newbies section and learn all about the game you are now firmly involved in, play well and beat the scammers like most do on here.0
