Just had a message from the buyer who is sure it has been delivered to the wrong address

Hi mate ... I think that my item must have been delivered else where... I have not signed for them as I was away working .... My partner base not signed for them also.... Is it poss you could get the recovers signature... Many thanks.

I've sent him the royal mail tracking 3 times but for want of a better words he is either at it or an idiot.
Not worth the aggravation for £7 should I just refund ?

    Do NOT refund.

Protect your account first and help the buyer second.

I am on a phone so can't see the first page - has the buyer opened a case?

No case has been opened yet just don't seem to be able to get through to the buyer to contact the post office to collect the item
Not even sure if it will still be there as it has been nearly a month
I will just try and help the buyer as much as I can for now
Thanks everyone for the replies and apologies if I keep repeating myself .

I know it's a worry, but you have to protect your account first.

As you've given the buyer the tracking info, then there is nothing more for you to do other than invite him to open a case.

For now, don't do anything. If it were me, I would ignore him until he's opened a case. The case will go in your favour if you have tracking (to the PayPal address).

It is quite likely to be on its way back to you by now (assuming you had a return address on the parcel?).

Custardy is the expert on time scales for returning parcels, so hopefully he will be along soon.

I would be asking if he could type his last 2 sentences again but in English.

Sounds to me like you need to remind the buyer that it wan't sent to their home?

I wouldn't advocate any such correspondence within ebay messages, a rep could totally misunderstand.

The OP should do as directed and ignore anything from the buyer until a case is opened. Then they should supply the tracking and wait for a date to escalate the case. With tracking the seller will win the case, it will be closed in their favour and the ability for the buyer to leave feedback will be removed.

If the buyer does dispute the delivery, this should be dealt with aside of the case as that leaves the seller in the position of being able to dispute with the carrier and give any refund if it is proven to be lost.

Just make sure you have added the tracking to the order AND to the case, it needs to be on both.

In fact make sure tracking is added everywhere , this should be done as soon as item is sent due to the new confusing eBay rules which seem to suggest that tracking is only eligible if added at time of dispatch.
