Engagement right I bought for 2k goes on sale half price days later

Hi. I bought an engagement ring for a little over £2k like a week ago. Went shopping yesterday and noticed that the ring is now on a half-price sale for just a little over £1k. I am not sure what my consumer rights are at this point but I am thinking of returning the ring I bought for a full-refund since it's only been like 10 days since the purchase and rebuying it again for half of the original price! It's over £1k of difference. What are my options?

If its a walk in shop you could find your right to return is pretty limited. By law their is no obligation to issue you a refund unless the product is faulty. That said, some companies go above and beyond in their levels of service to allow for change of mind refunds (Which is pretty much what yours comes under). First thing to look at is the reciept, sometimes it will give you the returns t's and c's on there. Worst case you go to the shop and they say no, best case, you save £1000.0

So what does your receipt say about returns?
A quick google turns this up as well:

9. Returns policy
9.1 If the products are goods, you may receive a full refund or exchange of any product within 30 days of purchase (excluding Personalised Jewellery, custom designs, items made or ordered specifically to your requirements and gift cards), so long as:
9.1.1 the product is returned to any of our stores in its original, unopened and undamaged packaging; and
9.1.2 valid proof of purchase is provided (receipt or invoice)..
9.2 The 30-day period referred to in clause 9.1 may sometimes vary - check with the store or online customer service information as you may have longer i.e. over the festive season.
It seems a pretty straight forward procedure to return a ring then. I'll get in touch with them and ask if they can offer some sort of a deal. If it was £50 or £100 I really wouldn't even bother but £1k is a lot.0 -
Have you not worn the ring yet?
I ask as the return policy is obviously for unused items.0 -
Was the ring sized or changed in any other way? and has it been worn since buying?0

I haven't proposed yet so the ring hasn't been touched since I've bought it. It hasn't been altered in any way.0

Make sure that those T&Cs apply to both instore and online.0 -

I think if you ask then to give you a partial refund you won't get anywhere. If you can, return the ring and get a full refund. Make up a story about why you are no longer getting engaged. Then once the refund has gone through, go back and buy it for half price. Or go to a different branch.0 -
I take it the engagement will be off then?
BoPsie's engagement ring came from Ratners thirty two years ago and it was a bargun!0
