External blue ray writer

Managed 5 mins of blue ray rip to ssd+5 mins dvd rip(to 4k format)-ssd.
Went well, noticed my 4k from dvd 5 mins used 1gb approx.

As my initial 5 mins rips were successful, I need to invest very soon.
1. Tipard blue ray converter s/ware-37 Uk pounds
2. External hdd or if I wait until 2019-maybe external. Ssd's could reduce in cost
3. Haven't yet purchased blank discs-for the purpose of trying writer functions

Maybe I'll try. 4K blue ray in very near future.

DVD is not 4K. It is standard definition. There is no point in upscaling it to 4K.

Found my dvd to 4k test very nice quality results indeed.
My intention is to copy some DVD's to add to Plex server and view via Apple 4k t.v.

It would likely look just as good playing the native resolution DVD rips on the Apple TV with the benefit of smaller file sizes.
