Finally plucked up the courage to join in and try to get my toiletries collection in check. I'm not too bad when it comes to certain items (e.g. shampoo, conditioner) but I really need to work on using up things like foundation and eyeshadows instead of buying new ones all the time.
Does anyone else find all the christmas value sets really hard to resist? Will have a proper sort through my stash and try join in on the finish 12 by christmas to try and focus on the products I already have I think.
Welcome!
I used to have a real problem with sets, but not so much now. I've got everything in my stash organised by type, and I know what I need to keep working on, so I look at the sets and see lots of bits I already have enough of, and then it's just not worth it for what's left.
I do see the odd occasional bargain though that I do go for - but I'm much more restrained than I used to be, thanks to this challenge (and having to publicly confess it here!). Thanks everyone:T
It looks like you've got some really lovely stuff to use too - that makes it fun! Good luck :j0 -
Oooh, I'm intrigued by this - why was it such a pain? I've noticed my current B&B it a bit harder to use - a kind of coating forms on top, and so less gets picked up. I've not had that before, and it's annoying. It's not going down any quicker though, phew - though maybe because of this!
That coating is what's known as hard pan. You can either try removing it with sellotape or scrape it. I was using cuticle nippers to scrape the surface in the end. I was wondering if it was due to my storing it in the bathroom but a lot of people on facebook have complained about the apparent change in formula.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

One out, one in for me....
GA - Love, Beauty & Planet Body Lotion 400ml - Muru Muru & Rose - I got this free from Boots review panel, I couldn't smell it at all so have decided to GA to a local homeless charity since I used only a tiny amount and not through the pump top. Lovely consistency despite the weak aroma.
IN - Chanel No. 5 EDP 20ml x 3 - Boots have an offer of 15% off luxury beauty and Chanel was included for once, I seem to remember this happening last year around this time! I'm glad I saved up my points and waited as this actually cost me £74.80 in points instead of £88.
I prefer the purse sprays to the big bottle but I wish they did the refills on their own as they do overseas, I don't want to keep paying out for the outer container when I already have one!Welcome. Looking forward to seeing your list for Finish 12 by Christmas. I used to have a problem with value kits from QVC and that was how I developed a stash in the first place. Now, I only buy them if I will use the majority of the items and can either gift/sell the others. Am in a quandary at the moment about the Laura Geller TSV coming up on 4 December. Kit contains Balance n Brighten Foundation, 2 highlighters (1 I’d like to try and other to gift to daughter), lipgloss topper (??) and eyeliner. If I can buy the two highlighters on QVSELL I will but I doubt it as no doubt everyone will want these. If not I’ll probably buy it as I’m coming to the end of my Balance n Brighten and could gift the lipgloss to my friend at work for Christmas.
I do however still have a problem with GWP offers. Seems I can’t resist a “freebie” and have to make myself consider carefully whether I’ll use the free item anyway.
My mum developed her stash from QVC too and never used most of it, she still had a massive collection when she died back in 2002, I ended up giving most of it away as it wasn't stuff I'd use and wasn't really on ebay/facebook back then.
I think she just loved getting deals, which is where my weakness also lies! I love GWP too, but I'm going to be making sure to sell any stuff I won't use ASAP to avoid it sitting in the stash! No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

Still the same amount of shea and effectiveness however don't like the cool feeling of the mint on my skin. One UU this morning:
The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Body Lotion 200ml WDBA and will do. This was light and sinks in quickly but very nourishing on my skin. I'm going to be near a Body Shop store today so I may pick another one up.0 -
