My concern was that I thought that you could not get a CCJ from these parking companies and that this woman has now got a huge bill of legal fees so I wanted to double check on here.

where on earth did you get that idea from ?

parking companies issue tens of thousands of court claims every year and those that are not defended or lose in court are all issued with a CCJ by the judge (its a County Court Judgment, so a Judgment in your County Court , Issued by a Judge)

the same system has been in force since 1973 in england and wales, not just about parking issues but if you failed to pay your plumber or your vets bill etc

Barry Beavis got a CCJ against him a few years ago, he paid it in full

Like us, you have no idea of the full story. The DM story does not stack up for people who know what they are talking about.
there is no need to be rude

Where was anything I said rude?

Unless you go to court, lose there, refuse/fail to pay the costs awarded by the Judge, there is absolutely no way you can receive a CCJ affecting your life! Please research sufficiently before accusing anyone of being rude!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I really appreciate the advice but there is no need to be rude

You most certainly can get ccjs from parking companies. The thirty thousand or so people Parking Eye have taken to court will attest to that.

Not only that there is a whole section in the Newbies thread devoted to the court process and what to do if you have a ccj.

You cannot get a ccj from a byelaws ticket. Even if you did go to court and lost (this won't happen) you cannot get a ccj. A byelaws offence result in a proper fine from a magistrate and isn't a civil matter.

You are not going to get a CCJ and you are not going to pay a penny.

Indigo railway penalties are NOT the same as a private PCN (or 23 PCNs) that someone has ignored, and which she could defend in court if she'd just stop giving a half story to the Daily Mail and stop saying she wants to pay the scam PCNs, and come here in time, and win. We have court defences winning every week v BW Legal and they are laughable!

But I digress. Your case is NOTHING LIKE the same.

There is a link in the NEWBIES thread Q&A all about why Indigo Railway penalties are different and why they time out in six months (unlike the Daily Mail ones from 4 years ago, for the love of God, forget that article which is like comparing chalk with cheese).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
