Indigo railway parking ticket - already hastily appealed

I pre paid to park in a Kent train station car park, when I arrived there was no designated spaces available and I parked in an area that was not blocking, impeding or restricting anybody but there wasn’t a bay painted there.

Upon my return a couple of days later I had 2x tickets by Indigo for breach 3 parking in unauthorised area wanting £60 per ticket within 14 days or £100 for each if not paid within that time.

I have hastily appealed these to indigo as soon as I got home, admitting I was the driver, I sent photos and said that I didn’t know I could not park there.

I have since been reading some of these posts and now realise that I should have not admitted that I was the driver to try and prolong this past 6 months after which they cannot take it to court.

Does anyone have any advice on how to proceed now as it seems I may have blown it by appealing?

Your help would be much appreciated,

Thanks

  • Maybe get pics of signs to see if parking outside of painted bays is forbidden.

If this is Railway property, then no problem them knowing the driver! (It's only the owner who can get summonsed!)
  • Thanks Peter, will go back and get some photos,

I had a look on Indigo website and it says you are not guaranteed a parking space and must park in designated spaces, I didn’t see this at the time of booking online and didn’t notice any signs in car park but must admit I was rushing for my train, just foolishly assumed that I had paid for parking and would be fine as I wasn’t blocking anyone in

This only happened yesterday so have not had anything back from Indigo yet, the car I was driving is a car that my company has hired
  • ok , hopefully you will have included YOUR name and ADDRESS with the appeal , if not , they will get info from the DVLA and send to lease Co , who may well pay it and invoice you , or give you a admin charge

you need to keep the parking co away from lease co and indeed the company you work for

then sit back and collect the toilet paper for 6 mths , INDIGOs contract forbids them to start court action , and due to data protection (and other laws) they cannot give your info to train Co ,

yes I included my name and address with the appeal, I thought I may have made a mistake by doing that.

Do I respond to their letters once they start arriving or just ignore them?
  • they WILL decline your appeal , its there onnly incore! , follow other threads , as you know this can only be heard in a magistrates court within 6 mths , when brought by the train co , but indigo cant give them your info!!

royal mail ping pong on the final day each time

    please read other indigo threads

Good, then you did the RIGHT thing by appealing as driver, in fact.

Now just let it time out over the 6 months and ignore the demands.

These are easy because we KNOW Indigo can't sue under this contract.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
