  • It says on the money expert website the the £85000 protection is “ shared” with Goldman Sachs.
Does this mean that the protection is not fully covered by the FSCS.

No, it means that only 85k total is covered if you have money with both.

Right now, this Marcus account is the only FSCS-protected product that Goldman Sachs offer.* But if they offer more in future, then the £85k limit would apply to your total across all their products.

    * Unless possibly you have some private bank-type account with Goldmans... I imagine in that case you'd be too wealthy to lose sleep over whether you were covered for 1x or 2x £85k.
  • Yes, today I was only asked for a password to get into my account. No PIN, so scammers (if the obtained your password) would be able to change your password and name, address etc without extra security. I then tried to change my link account but you have to upload a recent bank statement including name and address for them to allow this - just for info :)

Scammers would need to obtain your password and your computer/unlocked phone to bypass entering a PIN. If they (or you) use a new device or web browser to log in then you'll always be prompted for a PIN.

And in addition to Masonic's point, just for YOUR info: You can't change your email address or telephone number on line, you have to call them.

And to change your name you have to download an application form, fill it in and post it back accompanied by documented proof.
