Agree I had a little difficulty with the application form populating a few fields and nearly gave up but seemed to fix it myself (can't recall how!)
Other than that though had no problems whatsoever. I am accessing the account daily to check payments are going through and they show up quickly. (Staggering the payments in as Tesco restrict withdrawals unless ring call centre which I'd rather avoid)0 -
Sounds like you have used the .com site and not the .co.uk one. United Kingdom is the first item in the drop down. Misrepresenting your nationality on a banking application is pretty dumb and could cause you all sorts of problems
You'll have more luck here I suspect

No just tried application again (for wife) and having same problem. Using the .co.uk site and does not show UK in the drop down anywhere.0 -
Just went to the site, clicked Apply, clicked Continue, did not fill in any fields at all, just clicked on the Nationality, and the first in the list is UK.0

Ditto, just above Afghanistan0

It's because UK is already selected if you have autofilled.
Go to "remove nationality" on the drop-down you are using (that doesn't show the UK) and you will see that UK is already selected above.
I had this problem0 -
A thread that starts badly can only improve. ..
Of course there is the odd exception...0 -

I did phone Tesco rather than transfer £10,000 a day online over several days.
At the end of the call I was slightly surprised when I was asked would I mind telling them why I was withdrawing such a large amount.
I happily told them about Marcus offering 1.5% and mentioned that if Tesco were to beat that rate, I'd be back.
She tried unsuccessfully to sell me their latest 1.36% account!0 -
Ever since seeing this pesky thread, I can't stop calling it a Marcus Goldsmith account. Aargh!0
